I keep hearing that and I keep having trouble believing it.
It's Beverly Hills Ninja with a CGI panda instead of Chris Farley. Isn't it?

Nope. I was like you, I blame Blizzard.
It's in the execution. It doesn't take itself too seriously. It has allot of charm. The story is decent, it moves fast. I was giggling the whole time with a few laugh out loud moments.
My GF liked it allot and she couldn't support 5 min of Beverly Hills ninja.

I saw it last night and I agree it was great. I can't remember the last move I laughed so hard in.

Was supposed to see it on Monday but blew it off.
Has anyone seen it in IMAX as of yet?

How's the kung fu? :) I noticed the crane, tiger, mantis, snake and what-not in the trailers -- I hope they actually used their respective styles, done by someone who actually knows them. My kid got really excited during The Forbidden Kingdom when they were doing Kung-fu because he finally realized that "Tiger" and "Crane" and all that meant the styles were sort of like the animals, so he's dying to see this one.

I spent my last month of school recutting all the audio on the trailer for this movie. I'll be going to see it shortly.

We cut out of work and took a long lunch / team meeting and spent it at the theater watching this flick.
Art & animation superb, but wasn't as enthralled with it as some of you were.
Definitely worth the free pass I got though. Probably would have not felt ripped off even if I had to fork over matinee ticket cost…

He will be underwhelmed. They make a big deal of the fact in various interviews that the moves in movie are supposedly "authentic". However since they are being performed by animals it's really hard to tell that's the case -- i.e. Crane style done by a actual crane doesn't have the same look as a human doing it. Also the Fabulous Five don't do a lot of fighting in the movie (one big fight scene and some minor ones sprinkled in).

They (the 5) weren't prominently featured and pretty much were a side show compared to Black, Hoffman characters...

Yes he did. His lines, however, were all pretty short. His voice is very distinctive, though, I'm surprised you didn't notice.

Forbidden Kingdom disappointed abit though, Kung Fu Panda did not! Must see

Saw this movie.. it was pretty good.
I also saw Zohan, and if you are an Adam Sandler fan you'll probably like it. I thought it was pretty good.

All right, I'm going to see it tonight.
If you've all been lying and it's as bad as it looks from the trailers, somebody gonna get hurt real bad.

I actually think that'll be something he likes. How often do you see animals fight? (Well, he loves the Discovery channel -- so more so than many kids). Seeing the animal styles, even as animals, gives him something to compare to. We saw Forbidden Kingdom awhile back. I wasn't aware Jet Li's facial muscles actually allowed a smile. Nice to see Jackie Chan doing drunken boxing, even briefly, again. :) I got to see a Drunken Fist kata ages ago, done quite well by a very skilled 17-18 year old. I can't imagine the sort of muscle control it takes to do that.

Okay, the movie was pretty good. I don't have to lose all respect for Jack Black after all. Yay!

First CGI movie I've seen not made by Pixar that had the Pixar feel to it, instead of the rest of the trash like shrek and such that rely way too much on fucking toilet humor to move things along. Exceeded expectations.

Yeah, I checked this out this past weekend. I really liked it. It was pretty damn funny and the characters were pretty fun to watch jump around. It is a shame that I was watching a bunch of old kung fu movies in the weeks runnin up to it though, cause the movie has some cool scenes, but it is tough to follow up a month full of Shaw bros classics...oh well. I liked this movie though. It is really fun.
