Even with the talents to reduce totem cost, a melee shaman will lose 2-300 mana every 30s (long enough for someone to kill earthbind/grounding totem). Fire nova totem is 500 mana atm. 500.
Doesn't matter though, I love my shaman. I was top DPS in 3 groups yesterday (one had a 67 mage) at L63, and still had enough time to get mana back with Shamanistic Rage and heal the group after our resto shaman ran outta mana.
