I don't know if this is in another thread or not, but I just found out that MicroCenter is offering a $100 rebate on Xbox 360's (both the core and the premium).

You can find the rebate here:

http://www.microcenter.com/rebates/rebate_list.phtml?sku=892778

They aren't showing stock/availability online, so you have to call your local store. My store has 400 premiums and 50 cores, so it seems they have a lot. A 360 Premium for $300? Hmmm.

That actually makes the 360 as atttractive as the Wii as far as price goes.

Except if you don't live near one of those limited number of locations. Something like 19 nationwide?

I can mail anyone a 360 if they want one. The premium weighs maybe 15lbs with the hard drive, so I donno what that translates to for UPS.

If you are serious, I take paypal. :)

I think I know of two in my area.  But yeah, I've never been inside one either.

That's an awesome deal and there is one in Fairfax.   Too bad I just bought one on Overstock.com but I still got $50 off so I can't complain and it is for the kids after all.  No really it is.

There's one in the northern part of town.  This would be damn tempting if I had the extra scratch.   Curses.

Good timing.  I was thinking of picking up a 360 this weekend as it was.  This just sweetens the deal.

FYI, my experience:

Gamestop: $399 for Premium, free game (Call of Duty 2), free 1 year replacement plan

Microcenter: $399 for Premium, -$100 mail-in rebate, $60 Gears of War (no free game), no replacement plan (wants $50 for 1 year)

So really, if you didn't want Call of Duty 2 (360) then the rebate is the way to go. But since I didn't have a game to give with the system, I ended up spending $60 on a new game cutting my "savings" down to $40 - and no replacement plan.

Gamestop doesn't give a free replacement plan. What?

It was a Black Friday thing.

EDIT; I think it's normally $60 on the 360.

This past Sunday? I thought it was only for Black Friday, and maybe that weekend. Though, I haven't handled any 360 sales as of late, so I don't know for sure. It just hasn't come up. Maybe it was just something that store or district was doing? As far as I know, the PRP/CoD2 thing was only on Black Friday in my store.
