Cancelling AOL is *hard*

That is exactly how my cancellation went like 7 years ago. GodDAMN they are annoying. Good for this guy for not only getting harsh, but recording it for the edification of the masses.

I would have told the idiot to cancel the damned account before I called the credit card company and reported AOL for card fraud.

Today I found out that when I ordered a new phone from T-Mobile last August because they told me we qualified for a free upgrade that it automatically resubscribed us for a year.  How is it possible to re-sub to something you've had for 5 years without a break?  I would have remembered that if they told me last August and asked that same question.  If I cancel before August 4th, I have to pay a $200 cancellation fee.  Not worth the hassle... they only charge me $23 a month.

TMobile is the devil's asshole. Actually all cell phone companies are. All of their workers are minions of satan who deserve to have their eyes ripped out by pirhanas.

I haven't had any problems with Tmobile but Cingular still has an open item on my damn credit report. My very first cell phone I lost after about 4 months into a one year contract. I called to cancel and of course was informed that I could only cancel then by paying a $200 cancelation fee which was more than what I owed on the remainder of the contract. They wouldn't even let me just pay ahead on the rest of the amount. They did agree to set it to not renew for another year.

So, a few months went by and I kept the monthly payments going in then moved to a new house, got one more bill which I paid at the new address and they stopped billing me. Sure enough they stopped billing me 2 months early and charged me the $200 cancellation fee. Of course once they called me a year later it was up to around $400 somehow for "collection fees".

I explained to the guy what happened and he convinced me to pay the remaining $40 or so and he'd remove the item from my credit report.

5 years later and I still get a call every year from a new collection agency and have to walk through the entire story all over again and send them documentation but still no change to the credit report. Luckily it's the only bad item on otherwise outstanding credit so it doesn't really affect me.

I won't even get into my recent escapades with insurance and the Cleveland Clinic for medical bills....
