Anyone played it?

I can't decide if I should buy this game. I got the impression from different reviews that re-installing heroes III would give me the exact same playing experience and save me 60$.

Edit: I may end up reviewing this for the site, but I'd be coming from the perspective of someone that has only played 3 briefly (like 1 week in college) and none of the other games in the series.

If you want to buy it, I'd wait until summer, when they Might patch in random-map skirmish mode.

No skirmish mode pisses me off. How am I supposed to experiment with different factions quickly and easily?

I've been playing it.  It's pretty cool so far.  I have a review coming out for it around Friday or so.
