I've had the urge to play Fallout 2 again and I want to load it on my laptop - a Powerbook G4 17". Does anyone have any tips on where I might be able to find a purchasable copy for the Mac platform? I know at one time Macplay had said they were going to publish it, but I can't seem to find it on their site. Any help would be most appreciated.

Did I mention that I am looking for it at a reasonable price? Good god that is some ridiculous pricing. Thanks for the link though. My search continues...

That happened with the SMAC expansion (an expansion for $50 or so on amazon). I found an abandonware version, but it was buggy and kept crashing :( SMAC was one of my favorite games (along with Colonization, I think the Civs (except 2) have been the weakest Sid/Brian games), so I was bummed.

A quick look didn't turn Fallout 2 up at either retail nor abandonware sites. For shame!

I think you purchased their last copy. I did a search for "fallout 2", "fallout", and "fall" and those turned up NARSINK! I am beginning to wonder if there were just scant few copies left lying around in back rooms of retail shops. But the conspiracy possibilities are endless! Could the makers of Fallout 3 be pulling previous Fallout games from the shelves in preparation for repackaging and re-release of games? I don't know who holds the rights to the games now, but it's a thought. And my search continues...

I believe Interplay still has the rights to it.
