TV Ads won't go away, but they do have to change. The "shotgun" approach to marketing works fine when that's all you have, but there are so many more effective ways to reach customers than TV ads, by reaching directly to people who are interested in your product. TV ads are good for branding, but they can't be considered the only avenue for marketing. And trying to force people to watch TV commercials is stupid. You don't want a captive audience who resents their captivity, you want an audience to feel good about your product.
