I'm afraid I wasn't clear - version of CS I played for YEARS never required me to use any CDs for it to play it. As a matter of fact I no longer even own any CDs for it and was happy playing it that way since-before bunnyhopping desert eagle days. Yet I got banned for no cd... WTF?

Eternity is a very long time, especially towards the end.

It still did originally come on a CD, though. With an associated CD key that uniquely identified it, corresponding to a unique WAN ID that you'd use any time you played an Internet game. Perhaps you were using an invalid CD key, like half the other CS players who "borrowed a friend's"?

So let me get this straight... BF2142. They want to compete with the Unreal Tournament AND Quake series of games? Good. Luck.
I was never big on Quake, but the UT games just flat out lay the smack down and put many other multiplayer FPSes to shame. IMHO, of course.

Looks more like EA decided to milk the DICE/BF thing a little more..

When I saw the trailer, all I was thinking was: "lol. quakewars.ea"

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

I enjoyed BF:V quite a bit, though 1942 is still my favorite. 2142 seems to continue moving in a direction away form the slower, more tactical gameplay I loved in 1942.
I didn't like DC, either. Though I was a pilot in my 1942 clan, I can't stand the speed of the jets (in DC and BF2), like everything else, it's just too fast, the weapons too high damage, probably too many commas in this sentence, etc.
Giant robots? I'll pass.
