Okay, since the old Pioneer DVD player we've had for 5 years or so is really struggling with DVDRs of various quality TV shows, and since apparently the original XBox has had production discontinued it's time to buy one of these suckers to be modded into a media centre for the bedroom TV. (we also have an unmodded xbox in the lounge, but it's got all my gamesaves and crap like that on it, so I don't want to rep it's HDD).

Since the point of this box is to lay back in bed and watch stuff without cables, and the layout will involve the xbox being placed on top of a 6' metal cabinet, a wireless controller is a must if I'm ever going to play games on it, so I'm wondering if anyone here can point me to any wireless controllers that are exceptionally good or ones to particularly stay away from.

ta.

I got a Circuit City gift card for Xmas (otherwise I'd have never stepped foot in there) and got one of these:

Pelican 2.4 GHz Wireless Controller

I've been happy with it so far. It's gotten some HEAVY use since I bought it (average of 4-5 hours a night for about 2 weeks since I had Xmas week off and was sick for another week) and I've only gone through 1 set of 2 AA batteries. The rumble feedback is a bit lighter than other X-Box controllers, and you can't plug in the X-Box Live headset thanks to the battery compartment. It does have an extra set of white and black buttons on top of the controller above the left and right triggers. A decent controller for $30 (though I got mine for $20 on sale).

The Logitech wireless controller is the one I use. Feels very nice in the hands.

While I don't personally own one, I've used the logitech wireless and it was pretty good.

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

Both my PS2 and Xbox controllers are wireless Logitechs that replaced the original Logitech wireless that each had.  I like these more than the wired standard ones.  The Logitech button layout is better than Xbox stock (B + W are reachable).  MadCatz has not treated me well, and I am somewhat suspicious of Pelican after getting their big switchbox.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Logitech. Make sure you get the controller that takes 2 AA batteries. The older model takes 4 AA batteries and is awful.

If you've got a ps2, the 2 AA wireless Logitech controller is excellent as well. Same technology.

Thanks guys, based on the overwhelming love for the Logitech here (EB said the same thing, but I trust you more than them  tongue) I picked up a pair of these today.

Also, I hope you got the black ones and not the white or green ones. I really should have specified.
