Arrested man had gator in the closet

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - Vancouver city police officers will be talking about this call for a while.

Officers responding to a shots fired call last evening on Grant Street near Victoria, arrested a man carrying a sawed-off shotgun and a bag of pot.

When they searched the house, inside a closet they found....an alligator.

No word on why the man was keeping an alligator.

The gist of the story is that it was a long suspected drug house. Police responded to a shots fired call and found a guy with a sawed-off shotgun and a bag of pot. They also found a man inside with a stab wound to his leg that he claimed was self inflicted. Oh, and an aligator in the closet - between 4 and 7 feet long. Apparently it was alive as the SPCA was called in.
