wants a greif tittle

on: July 07, 2005, 08:58:20 PM

I have done just about all the content on the Horde side of the game, and was thinking I would give Alliance a try, for some thing different. I was wondering if any one is playing Alliance, and has a medium sized guild that accepts lowbies, so I could have some people to group with, and talk to.

I have actually been wondering the same thing.

Thinking of starting an alliance alt, possibly on one of the newer servers, but i dont remember which of the servers were the latest to go live.
Its either that, or roll up an Alliance on Earthen Ring, so i can leverage my 45 Horde Mage who i havent touched in ages for cash, but im not sure i want to go RP Server

I play Alliance on the Alleria server.  I can point you at a good mature (Attitude-wise) guild, here. It's not the one I'm currently in, because it seems intent on inviting only kids age 11-19 recently and I'm starting to feel the need to flee.  SOA was the guild I was originally in but felt the need to flee because I was 60 and they were sitting on their thumbs.  They're also mainly Mac users (having transferred from the EQ Mac server) so I didn't feel comfortable there anyway.  (As most Mac users seem to go into zealot mode if anyone mentions PC problems.)

I'm alliance on Whisperwind.  I could get you set up with a big guild that is both casual and hardcore, but don't expect to see me much.  I'm consistent, but very casual.

I play alliance on Crushridge [guild site in sig], but we're RPers. And we eat babies.

Wait for the PVP RP server to open, and catass with the best of them Morph (btw, you ever get that second char to 60?).

What char were you looking to make?

I was thinking about waiting, but they havent announced how long tiill they are released. Knowing Blizzard, it could be a long time. I did want to play on the RP PVP though. I will ask my "contact" if he knows when they are comming.

I was planning on making a Night Elf Warrior.

And no, I never got my Warlock to 60, he is 41. He is fun, but just didnt really fit my playstyle.

I ditched my Paladin at level 11 and started a Gnome Warlock on Argent Dawn.  The name is "Tyber."  Currently level 21.  Much fun so far.  If you pick Argent Dawn, come say hi.

My Guild is rather small and pretty much in the 15-25 range, but they're generally inactive and it looks like a bust, so I won't recommend them.

Yup. NE Warriors are pretty rare on my server, so I fugured it would be the same on other. But pallys are every where on every server.

A fun if kinda dirty trick class if you want to pvp is to go gnome warrior. Gnomes are so damn small that its damn tough to spot what armor they are wearing at any distance. So if you go a all fury dual wielding warrior gnome you can kill a great number of people in pvp who try to handle you like a rogue. Most tactics that work on a rogue in pvp really do not work at all for warriors. Ya eventually they will figure it out but you can roll a lot of folks before they truly understand the tanking might of the gnome warrior.

Also being the smallest thing on the field in pvp is a damn good advantage.

Yup, I was going to suggest a shorties-guild on a newer server with a few us that might want to come back (my time is much less than the time I had before), and I can't stand Night Elves, even warriors.  Besides, if you went Gnome Warrior, I could make a dwarf priest.

I'm Alliance on Proudmoore, and I wouldn't have it any other way really. All of my horde alts didn't make it past level 15 due to the sheer dullness of the horde areas.

Hey, I'm one.  But now that you mention it, I haven't seen many others.

Imho the only important element about choosing the server is the population. I wouldn't play on anything that hasn't a big community since "too many players" has never been a problem for me while I hate being LFG for hours because there are not enough players around. That and the balance between horde/alliance.

I play on Mannoroth since release and I'm still satisfied, the population is very good and it's still one of the most popular servers. Balance between horde and alliance is also good for a PvP server.

At this point I'd suggest to wait for the RP-PvP server that could become rather popular and may offer a slightly better community.

The guild I joined (The Eternal Watch) is still surviving with around 250~ characters and alts. Talking about reforming into a new guild though. They are open to new players and could use a mage or a druid.

If I had it to do over again I might do dwarf or gnome warrior.  When fully decked out in plate they look like short tin cans.  Which has to be constant comedy.

I play an Alliance Paladin on an RP Server... though I can't think of which name at the moment.

She's human, 39th level.

Dwarf >> Gnome for Warrior, because the stone form is tankish while the escape thingy the gnomes have is run awayish.

The dwarven stone form is pretty sweet. Especially since I found you can instant cast it and then right click to remove the snare effect. I have used that to good effect in pvp on a few occasions and quite often in pve. The gnome power is situational but can be useful. I like the gnomes power better than the human activatable power.

My guild has been suffering from this lately.  It's a bad sign when you have to leave the /g channel.

I left /g last week so long I forgot I had done it.  I went to ask the guild for some information and couldn't figure out why it didn't work.  I turned it on.  Got my question answered.  Shut it back off.
