Gas Price Rumor Causing Fueling Frenzy In Mid-Michigan

There's panic at the pump in Mid-Michigan today. Rumors of a big gas price roll-up have "fueled" runs on gas stations all over the Tri-Cities area. There have been reports of traffic jams near gas stations in Saginaw Township and other communities as well. Drivers fearing a price hike are trying to fill up before it's too late. WNEM TV5 has been following the story and the rumor appears to have started with a sign at a gas station that's still under construction and hasn't opened yet.

The station is at a Wal-Mart store in Midland. A gas price sign there was reportedly reading $3.03 per gallon. So far, there is no confirmation of any gas price roll-up in Mid-Michigan. We're following the story and we'll have more information for you on TV5 news beginning at 5:00pm, AM 1250, and of course here at WNEM.COM.

To make sure they get enough, I recommend that these folks line their cars with plastic and fill the passenger compartment with gas as well. Think of the savings!

Don't forget the free pack of smokes with each fill-up.

Oh no, a price hike!

I hate when people nitpick over gas prices. "Oh, this station is too expensive. I saw regular for $.07 cheaper up the road I think."

Like, WHO THE FUCK CARES! It's a few cents. I've thrown more money than that at people.

Hell, I haven't looked at gas prices where I go in years. I just give them my card and they fill my tank, end of story.

At least it's not Europe, where you pay like, what, $12 a gallon?

I care, motherfucker. Not to make this a useful thread, but gas prices are a good indicator that other shit will be going up as well. Before we had the $2 gallon of gas, 1 gallon of milk at Wal-Mart was $2.90. Now, it closely approaches $3.25. That's a significant price increase in less than 2 years. People like me who have to commute a good 20 miles a day take gas prices as a kick directly in the fucking jimmy.

If some of you missed it, the price of $3.03 was on a gas station that was STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. That's right, it wasn't real but people thought it was.

I give up.

Yeah me too on the commute part. That's why I quit my job.

Oh no wait, it's because I hated the job. Yeah, I forget sometimes. On the plus side though my fuel costs are way down.

[EDIT - Shockeye] I'm a moron. Ignore me.

Yesterday I dropped ~$41 for a tank of gas.  That will last me a week.  I don't recall the exact price, but it's bothersome in any case.  That said, I don't see any point in getting angry about it.

Next Paelos is going to ask me why I don't use MARTA.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

If you aren't black I know why you don't. For those that don't know, the going joke about MARTA is "Moving Africans Rapidly Thru Atlanta."

Except for hockey games, then you're just retarded if you don't use it.

People who buy their gas at AM/PM and Safeway and other "economic" gas stations keep food on my table. Please keep going to those shitholes, I enjoy doing in tank fuel pumps.  :-D
