Ok, I have a very wierd video problem. When ever I view a video, it is now coming up washed out, and very yellow. Its hard to describe the way it looks. Its like there is a yellow film over every color, except the wites. Also, it is a bit distorted and blown out, like the whites are way to white.
This happens in Windows Media Player and Real Player. So its not just my video player. I have tried updating both players, and also my graphics card drivers. Do you guys have any ideas of stuff I can try to fix this, it is VERY annoying.
Graphics card is a gf6800gt, monitor is a NEC/Mitsubishi Diamontron 22inch, system is winXP pro.
I really have no idea what to do except reinstall windows, and I really dont want to do that right now.

Have you installed any video codecs latey? It sort of sounds like one of them is now messed up somehow. Which type of video file is giving you this problem? .wmv, .avi, .mpg, .divx, .mov, .rm, .mp4, .swf, all of the above, none of the above?

Uninstall any codecs you have and install the full codec package from HellNinjaCommando - also known as the DefilerPak. LinkageOther than that, might I suggest you use BSPlayer for all your video other than WMP10 exclusive content? More Linkage

That was happening to me when I was forced to install Media Player 10 through a windows update, really bad stuttering too. I fixed it by going tools->options, performance tab, advanced button, and clicked on the "Use high quality mode" under "Use video mixing renderer", that cleared the yellow. Unchecking "Drop frames to keep AV in sync" removed the stuttering, but obviously now the audio/video isn't in sync on demanding files like that Project Offset, at least not on my older work computer.

I had this problem with video when I upgraded my Nvidia drivers a while back. A fresh install with the same version drivers didn't have the same problem though.

I havent loaded any Codex that I can think of. That is also what I thought was giving me the problem, but I didnt know how to uninstall them. And the fact that it is doing it on two different players made me think that is not the case. I really dont have any experiance with Codex and video players except when I need to install a new one to watch a video. As to file types. Its everything I have tried to play in Windows Media Player and Real Player. I need to check quick time also, but I dont know if I have any quicktiime videos to test with.

It was a byproduct of the latest Nvidia drivers actually. Hit Guru3d and download the latest beta drivers and you should be all fixed.
