Team Xbox has some info on a possible leak of a Xbox 2 prototype controller picture. Judge for yourself. The glossy look of the enclosure and the absence of a logo in the front give us the impression we might be looking at a prototype rather than the final design of the Xbox 360 controller. It is a common practice to mold dozens of designs until one prototype is chosen as definitive.
Anyways, if these photos are real, it is worth noting that there are no cords attached, which would confirm the rumored wireless capabilities of the standard controller, and that the Back and Start buttons have been moved toward both sides of the Xbox 360 logo. These photos would also confirm the replacement of the Black and White buttons with two shoulder buttons.

That controller looks absofuckinglutely awesome. I'm sorry, but if it's as comfortable as it looks, they made a good goddamn choice.
I like the picture on the PSP in front of the ourcolony stuff.

Me too....the current controller already has has triggers, so I don't see the point of adding shoulder buttons.
It looks like they deleted the triggers on this prototype, which dissappoints me, as I've always perferred triggers to shoulders (I'm looking at you, PS controllers with FOUR shoulder buttons. Fuck that.).
Never had a problem with the B/W buttons.

Looks pretty good, but I hope they make a version of it with cord. Yes I know there's no logical reason at all not to like wireless, but me and logic parted ways years ago.
I'm a happy camper that they're moving the black and white buttons though, I always found them very hard to effectivly use in sportsgames.

Sorry, it isn't the best shot in the world....couldn't really tell what buttons the thing had. Looks pretty good, but I hope they make a version of it with cord. Yes I know there's no logical reason at all not to like wireless, but me and logic parted ways years ago.
I had a wireless keyboard for awhile and grew to hate it. My signals would get all FUBAR'ed on a pretty consistent basis. Fuck wireless; That means I have to actually find the control under the mess which is my room, instead of being able to tug on the cord.

The controller looks sexy. I don't see any triggers, but they could still include them, and it would be nice. I like shoulder buttons, but trigger & shoulder would be very nice. In addition to the signal problems mentioned previously, there's the issue of Batteries. And if you say "rechargeables" you just underscore the fact that you don't have kids. I own 16 recharageable AAs of which I can find 2, the ones I swap between my beard trimmer and camera.

I saw the triggers, not the shoulder buttons.

The Xbox Logitech controllers have issues with timing. Also, they're nowhere near the same, and you can tell by the picture. The buttons are all different shapes, the ridges around the analog sticks aren't the same proportion. The D-pad is completely different. The black and white buttons aren't shoulderpads on the logitech one. And, if I remember correctly, the battery area on the logitech is flush with the back in a very slick format, unlike the prototype leak which is much more like the wavebird.

Those were what I was taking for the shoulder buttons. The triggers I was looking for I figured would be incorporated further down the wrap-around of the handgrip. Where they're at doesn't look very comfy for anyone with smaller hands like women and kids.

Given how much deeper the handles are than just about every other controller I've seen (i.e. the Dreamcast has handles that are flat with the triggers, while the PS2 controller is slightly curved - while this one (xbox) seems to be coming off at about 45*), I don't think it'll be that bad. That said, of all the things they can fuck up - I doubt it'll be the triggers. And I hope I don't have to eat my money hat.

The 2 AA version of the logitech controllers have ZERO issues with timing. I can even play racing games. The older one that took 4 AA batteries sucked, though. The buttons are close enough for me. If they have shoulder buttons and triggers, that's where the black/white buttons went. I'd like to see something that had 6 face buttons, like the saturn controller, but with triggers and shoulder buttons. 6 so fighting games and those kind can use 'em. Shoulder buttons + triggers so we can have great analog gas/braking and gearshift buttons for racing games. Thumbs for driving/view, shoulders for gear changes, triggers for gas/brake. Perfection. Will never happen though.

Dreamcast controller is my favorite out of the bunch. Come to think of it, I liked both the Saturn and Dreamcast controllers, but the latter fit my hands perfectly.
I'd only used the older logitech that took 4 batteries...I think. All I remember is the timing was off on Guilty Gear X2. So I returned it immediately.
