Yeah, did a test run of it a few days back. It's not going to win any awards for plot, and the acting was good but nothing outstanding. If you like tanks though, it's worth watching. They got the last operational Tiger I for one scene in this which is pretty much the only time you'll ever see one in a movie (the Tigers in Kelly's Heroes for instance were converted Soviet T-34 tanks). All the tanks in the movie are real., which is pretty cool but may also be the reason why the movie often feels smaller in scope as far as the battles are concerned.  There's never anything on the scale of the bigger scenes in Saving Private Ryan, but what they do have looks good (aside possibly from the tracer rounds which end up looking a bit like a G.I. Joe cartoon where one side is firing one color and the other side is firing another, but maybe that's what it actually looked like I have no idea). The carnage is fairly graphic at times also.

I liked it, lots of the usual WW2 movie tropes, but I appreciated seeing real armor moving around and 'fighting'.  The tracers seemed a little too bright but the color difference was historic.  The inside the tank scenes were quite well done and the tank crew interactions felt right. The Writer/Director plays World of Tanks which may explain some of the battle scenes.

I was pretty disappointed in this actually. The two big battle scenes were really well done, especially the duel with the Tiger but the rest of it was rather silly, especially the last 20 minutes which was ridiculous. The scene at the apartment was pretty decent but the sudden change of heart didn't make any sense to me.

I really wanted to like this and I did in spots, but overall it was rather ridiculous.

That's what it actually looks like (Allies used red, Axis used green). The purpose of tracer ammo is to help a full-auto gunner track his aim by something other than guessing with collection of dust puffs in the enemy direction is his, so they are generally a fairly high proportion of the rounds (usually every 5th round) when they are used at all.

Tracers are generally only used in belt linked ammo for machine guns, every 5th round.  Speaking from experience, it can be hard as hell to see where your rounds are going when firing without tracers.  Not only is your aiming thrown off from the gun firing but the gases from the rounds being fired get in your eyes and can mess with your vision.  It's a pretty cool sight when you rig it so that you have belts of all tracer rounds.  It looks like something right out of Star Wars.

This is probably the best anti-war film I have ever seen.  It was a little too dark for my liking. I'm sad I won't be able to let my son see it for quite a few more years. The battles were great. Shia Laboof was actually decent. I wish one of the characters was likable.

Somewhat agree.  I really liked the film and its potrayal of war.  I think it may give the most realistic take on WW2 I've ever seen, both in its potrayal of how battles were actually fought, and the sorts of conditions the men lived (and behaved in).  It really deserves a lot of credit for that.  Unfortunatly, as people said, it was hamstringed by a bunch of major Hollywood cliches throughout (especially the end, which felt like it completely broke from everything that made the movie unique up till that point).

Still, it's a movie I recommend people to see, with the warning that its deeply flawed but still worthwhile.
