Got a few bad reports from some other amateur mets in the area. Specifically lookin for info outta Baton Rouge as the eyewall went right over there and it's pretty vulnerable to river-based flooding. Here's one from a rescuer.

In Ascension Parish. Many trees and powerlines down. Highway crews out with heavy equipment clearing those. We run many medical and rescue call in last 24 hours. Some houses are literally being sliced by trees. High water over roadways and rivers flooding from rains north of area. River flooding will peak in coming days. Many homes will likely have water inside for days till rivers subside.
We've got generator power and fiber optic phone lines that are. Burried are working here. Cell towers have lost power and can't make AT&T calls here on cell. Texts go out after finding a working tower. Takes a few minutes though. 911 calls have slowed for the moment and all parishes in area are under curfew. Only emergency vehicles allowed on roads till six am. Within 24 hours after the river begins to rise from upstream. My downstairs is going to flood. Hope the upper story stays dry. It's about 16 feet above sea level. Facing a mess but some will have it much worse.
The state of the casino areas in Biloxi is pretty dire also. A few seem to be flooded out and some soon to be. http://t.co/Rkog9nID
I know a trained spotter over in the Mobile area that at 3pm had near 14" of rain. I think his gauge stops at 20".
Charleston, SC. Yah... CHARLESTON is underwater in a lot of locations from interaction with Issac and a distended trough. There are lots of these little stories all over that will keep getting worse over the next few days. For only a cat. 1. The news will drop it soon though and much of this news will get lost I'm sure unless people's roofs start peeling off.
