MK has a story and mythology?
Not that most people who play the games would ever know, but yeah.  I stumbled across some wiki with lots of information once when I was looking for a picture of Sheeva, and it went on and on about characters, story, etc.  Pretty coherent for the most part, too, it seemed.  The point about the mysticism having grounded rules and all that, that this guy talks about, is already there.

Personally I hated all the outer-world BS that they created in order to market some type of story-driven 3d action adventure/fighting game that one of Mortal Kombats 12,000 reiterations on the PS2 became.

Id like to see MK vs DC Universe 3d action gorefest with nukes and the original guy who played Goro in the 1995 version.

Part 2 is up. I can't say I am fully appalled by it, but it does feel like amateur hour.

It's not bad. It's over the top and the first two parts don't really seem to have much to do with Mortal Kombat, though it's also mostly just backstory. It's certainly better than Mortal Kombat 2. I want Jax to pull out some Black Dynamite shit, thought.  why so serious?

I'm actually enjoying this series quite a bit.  Mostly through poking fun at it MST3K style, but I unironically enjoy most of the fight scenes and their different twist on the MK world.  My expectations being as low as they could get and simultaneously playing through the new Mortal Kombat game helped quite a bit, too.

For a small budget affair, it hasn't been half bad so far.  Still plenty of time for it to go off the rails, I suppose.  I don't really get Jeri Ryan as Sonya, though.

Don't get how? As in, "how did they get her," or, "why did they cast her?"

For the second, because she's hot and has geek attraction factor.  For the first, all I can guess is she owed someone a favor.

Or she hasn't really done anything in a long time... all about the bills man.

I'd offer that, but then I actually went and looked at IMDB.   Ohhhhh, I see.

She's a regular on "Body of Proof" was on "Leverage" for a while and prior to that was on "Shark" with James Woods.  She was also in "O.C." and "Boston Public" with a few guest star appearance roles scattered throughout.

Just because she's not playing sex vixen for geek mastrubation aid doesn't mean she hasn't worked.

Episode 7: Scorpion and Sub-Zero Pt. 1

Mostly dialogue, and they haven't put up Pt. 2 yet, so it's sorta meh.

I liked the concept behind Episode 6, though.

This series is taking a huge step away from what was put out in the trailer link on the first page. I am hoping this is just back story and it catches up to that, or else I may rage.
