I've been recently starting to feel my wrists getting uncomfortable at work due to the angle and I was going to go searching for some keyboard/mouse rest pads, but wasn't sure what to get. I was going to pick up one from Walmart, but I know those can be crappy quality so I figured I'd ask for some input from those out there that have been through this before.
The mouse pad will be for mostly gaming while at home, but I will need it for some work that I do at home as well. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I ended up getting a trackball, and it's much nicer on my wrist.
I did get a simple mouse pad with gel wrist pad from OfficeDepot, which helped some. The trackball helps a lot more.

My wife got a gel wrist pad from Officeworks, which is just a big local office supply chain/place. It works fine. I think these things are pretty much all much of a muchness.

Which angle? If it's a height thing it would be better to adjust the chair and/or desk height.

I got the razer mousing surface a couple Christmases ago, it has a get palm rest, and two surfaces to mouse on. (one side is rough and the other is smooth). It's a bit large, but it has grown on me.

Your best bet is to hire a hooker and have her lie on the desk, between wrist and edge of same.

Trippy continues to provide valuable insight. Also, make sure that what you think is the proper angle, is. I cringe at the way some people tilt up keyboards, despite having been educated on how the carpals work. The new mac keyboards are really nice and low profile, but despite how cool the magic mouse is, I miss my old logitech that was nearly on its side, since ideally your hands want to be in 'handshake' position, with the ulna and radius straight.

I use M$ Natural keyboards. I'd love to find a mechanical split keyboard (that didn't cost an arm and a leg) similar to it, but...no dice so far. Still, it's what I use and I like it a lot. Best of all, it's way cheap.
Mousepad. I use a Razer Exactmat. Alloy pad with two surfaces: one roughish, one smooth. It sits on little rubber feet. By far the best mousepad I've ever used. Being aluminum, I don't see it ever wearing out. I also have a Razer gel wristpad. It's pretty comfortable, but I don't use it much. I bought it to try out, but don't really feel the need for it. Not yet, anyway. I'm not sure if these two items are still available from Razer, but they've been outstanding in my use.

Here to echo Trippy - desk height is a major factor. I fixed all my issues by adjusting how I sat, so that my forearm and elbow rests fully on the desk surface, keeping my wrist fairly straight. Those stupid underdesk keyboard trays are evil.

If your workplace provides an ergonomic consultant (most larger places should) go that route first, they can help you figure out your setup. Once your work setup is fixed you can take any lessons from that and apply them to your home setup.

Can anyone point me to an ergonomic gaming keyboard? I have been looking for something with extra programmable buttons for months now, but all I see are flat keyboards. Fuck that.

Oh nice! Not as spiffy as the G15 breed, but might very well do for me. Thanks!

So, looking at the pics of the 4000, and wow it looks familiar. Then I glance down at keyboard I am typing on at work...Yep, a 4000. I honestly never even noticed the buttons across the top! Now to see if there are any extras here I can swipe and bring home

Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I am going to check them out. I'll go by the local computer stores too to see if I see anything that really strikes my fancy. The only places I checked so far was Staples and local Walmart down the street.
