I'm just looking into helping a friend set up a site for a small business. Nothing big or that's going to get an assload of hits. Being partially involved with my brother's design firm (I'm just a sound & video guy), I shouldn't even be asking this, but I was just wondering what's worked for others around here.

I've heard good things about Dreamhost.  However, if you are doing any Microsoft technologies, you might have a challenge with them.

That's an operative question: will he be doing e-commerce or some other application that requires ASP, PHP, Cold Fusion, etc?  And if so, bought or built?  Or will it be straight HTML (just a web presence)?

Witty banter not included.

Just a web presence. It's just a local Greek restaurant, so he isn't expecting to do much with it (for now). But this is also for future reference.

Also, if there's any recommendations on file hosting, I could use that too.
