Here's a list of what I found (and no, I didn't buy all these - that'd be ridiculous):
Arc the Lad: - $8.98 Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance - $4.98 Beyond good & Evil - $3.98 Bloodrayne $7.48 Chaos Legion - $6.49 Castlvania: Lament of Innocence - $4.98 Devil May Cry - $4.98 Fantavision - $4.49 Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly - $9.48 Gladius PS2 $4.98 La Pucelle Tactics PS2 - $7.49 (for regular edition, SE is $24.49) Magic Pengel - $4.98 Max Payne 2 - 9.98 Mojo - $3.00 Resident Evil Code Veronica X - $5.98 Siren - $10.98 Soul Calibur - $6.48 Xenosaga - $3.48
GBA - Only found 1, way way too many GBA games on shelves:
Sword of Mana - $8.49
If you find anymore stuff, go ahead and post it here. Apparently GC and Xbox have stuff as well. But the closest store was picked clean. I'm gonna hit one a little further away tomorrow. If you live in the boonies - the sales are based on how many extra copies of stuff they have. So you can really rape a store based on the location.
Enjoy!

Someone please tell me there's a way to play Sword of Mana on something other than a game boy?

Well doesn't that blow.
I really don't intend to buy a GBA for one game, which will probably turn out to be about 1/8th the length of SOM..

Last time they had a "huge" gaming sale, the store here had exactly none of the games listed in stock but did have many sale posters. They had lots of $20 games, but that was their SRP.

This isn't even an announced sale. They just finished inventory nationwide. Anything they had too much of is marked between 50-70%. Basically anything that's actually on the shelf and not just an empty case that says "Bring to register."

Looks like the store by my house was swallowed up whole, or they didn't have shit to begin with. I found a few copies of Bloodrayne, Dark Alliance, and Mojo, but that's about it.
I did manage to get Alien Hominid for the PS2 though, which was nowhere in sight up until now, so it's all good.

Someone please tell me there's a way to play Sword of Mana on something other than a game boy? You do not want to play that tedious piece of shit. The only good things about the game are its graphics and the word "Mana" in its title. The controls are horrible, the enemy and player AI are non-existant, the weapon/spell system is totally worthless, etc. You have a little pissant that follows you around and "helps" like in Secret of Mana, but in this game she's ALWAYS DEAD. Her shitty AI is so fucking bad that it's literatlly impossible to keep her alive. I played through half of the game with her corpse dragging behind me. The story is half-assed, worthless, and downright confusing. The simple act of swinging your sword in the hopes of hitting a monster with it is incredibly painful in this game. The animations and hit detection seem to have been specifically designed to make sure you never manage to land a blow. Oh, there is one more thing good about the game. You can pretty much just run past every monster in each area, which is good since you end up backtracking a lot and trying to figure out where the hell you're supposed to go next.

Times like this I wish I had money to blow. Someone please tell me there's a way to play Sword of Mana on something other than a game boy? Assuming that Aenovae's glowing review doesn't influence your purchasing decision, I'll point out option #2. Runs about $50.

TRU has been clearing out a lot of this kind of thing as part of their Green Tag sale which they've been using to get rid of old crap that's been taking up space for too long. Most of this stuff is 70% off of it's last price before the sale started now, but what they have in stock is pretty much going to vary from store to store since it tends to be crap that was hidden in the storeroom, or stuff that was still labeled on the shelf for full price for a long time so no one bought it. The green tag thing is supposed to last until the end of 2005 and more games might be added to the list at some point.
On a whole TRU's price labeling is pretty poor so if you find a game or anything for that matter that you know is old but is still labeled at full price, take it to a price scanner and check just to make sure.

Ok, well, admittedly, I'm checking out the game on a ROM.
And Aenovae is right to a certain extent. It's a crappy version of a killer classic. Which, to me, is still fun enough to play. Maybe it's just nostalgia overflow - but then again, that's the same sort of thing that made IPY popular. So it's cool with me.
However, I think alot of your gripes about the game come from deciding it sucks before you played it - or just not liking it period. Rushing through levels, not paying attention and having to go back to find stuff, letting your partner die and dragging her corpse along, etc. Seems to me like you just didn't want to play the game.
I'm playing it, having a bit of fun, enjoying a couple different things like the mix&match class system, and keeping in mind that, hey, it's a game boy version of a super nintendo game. Give it a break.
