FUCK. I WISH THIS GAME WAS ON PC. I like what they are doing with the levels, and the three PMCs, and the various squad stuff, but - console shooter.

I was futzing around with it getting more and more frustrated as guys I clearly saw way before they saw me still killed me as I tried to flip the sticks into place to put a shot off. I shut off my PS3 in frustration and bought Global Agenda, and played a first place round of Modern Warfare 2 just to make myself feel better about being a PC shooter only type.

This came out.  Anyone?

I didn't much care for the game in beta.  Seemed to have too much going on and I'd never see what killed me.  I'm old and slow, I suppose.  Interesting concept about the sheer number of people playing though.

I've got it.  I've been playing as Raven.  I'm thinking this might have been a grave tactical decision on my part though.  0-4 for matches last night.   I was doing much better than that in beta.  Could just be the influx of newbies, going to see how it pans out later this week before jumping sides.  I like the game a lot though, which is odd since I'm not normally that big into shooters.

I think BF:BC2 might have more depth out of the box compared to this game.

Nod. In between BF:BC2 and AVP both coming out on the PC, my interest in this has waned to next to nothing.

So for PS3 owners, is this a thumbs up or a don't bother?

Played the beta for a few weeks.  It was good short term fun, but somewhat repetitive.  Didn't really give me a reason to keep coming back to it.

I was psyched for this game's release and almost creamed my jeans when it went into open beta. My disappointment was deep enough that I went out and purchased MW2 when the price temporarily dropped by ten dollars at Best Buy.

The interface for the upgrades was a major turn-off. I couldn't figure out how to apply weapon changes as I leveled. Not sure if they changed it and I feel like there must have been something super-obvious that I kept missing. So much so that's it's embarrassing to admit.

Arise!

I couldn't find a thread for this aside from the Beta one - Did/does anyone play this or have anything to share on it? It's pretty cheap now, so I'm wondering if it's worth picking up for a go-around, or if I may as well skip it (and does it have an active population, or are they all playing MW/MW2/Black Ops?)

I had a decent amount of fun with it in Beta, but never bothered with retail.  Not sure what the population is like, but the game got a fairly substantial update a couple months back.

I was waiting for it to drop into the $20 price point, but from what I've heard they're going into subscription-style service to stay afloat.  Extra toon slots are rented... just from what I hear.

Uh, they're charging for extras. That's it. No subscriptions.

As for the 2.0 update, apparently it's almost like a new game now and nothing like the beta we played.

I played it shortly after release and thought it really sucked.  Sold my copy before this update so no idea of the current state of the game and with Black Ops out now I have no reason to look.

I might go see if there's a downloadable demo. I should probably skip it, since I don't have the time to sink into games all that much right now, and the BF series tends to be my online shooter of choice. And on PC.

hm, no demo. The extra character slots you guys mentioned cost AU$1.75/month. That makes me want to play so much more.  swamp poop

Yeah. If there is one, it's not on the Aussie PSN MAG pages. There's Beta access if you already have the game, some free guns, etc, but no actual demo.
