Has anyone else downloaded this yet?  Completely free game, which I guess they're doing as a promotional tool to get you to buy the full version.  So far, though, the "demo" version appears to me to be pretty much a full blown game.

In any case, this is my kind of racer.  Seems like it's tailor made for XBox Live or PSN...  Can't believe it hasn't shown up on either of those yet.

PC version isn't free through Steam, you have to download via another source from their website. DLing it now from gamershell

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

Really?  It must be a localization thing, because I just got it Friday via Steam.

I got it through Steam as well.  Reminds me of bedroom developer stuff.  Sometimes it's entertaining and sometimes it clearly outlines how much time is being wasted playing it.

Wierd, I did a search for it, and the only thing that showed up was the one you have to pay for. No demos or anything. Is there like membership levels in Steam or some such?

There's two flavours on Steam - one's the freebie (TM United Forever?), the other is the paid version (TM Nations Forever?).

Downloaded the freebie version last weekend only to find it wouldn't even start on Vista due to a DX9 dependency, that the amount of support available for most technical problems was laughably poor, and that the foreign developers are either swamped right now or just not that interested in technical issues.

On the plus side they don't appear to use Starforce anymore (link).

Vista isn't your problem. Running Vista Enterprise and it ran just fine out of the gate, no fiddling required. I did download it from Gamershell, however, not from Steam.

Vista x64 here, and it ran without a hitch.

Ya, the game is quite good, and very addictive. I have only touched multiplayer, since the tracks people build are insane and it takes so long to learn them that you can't possibly come close to winning till the timer runs out on you. Single player is a twitch nightmare/dream, depending on your perspective. For some of the gold medals you need to turn your car -just- so each time or you've basically lost without a chance of beating the clock.

The graphics are fab, and the degree of car custimization is pretty nifty for a freebie.

The entire game is the full-blown mode Stadium from TM United Forever. Game's fun I'm playing it right now.
