So, I've been away from this crack-cocaine for a year and a half. Would it be possible to hit 70 (or atleast get close) in a month, with "casual" gaming? What /played are we talking about nowadays? It wouldn't be with any twinking since I'm rolling on a brand new server and lots of fucken strangers.

Also, it'd probably be with some inane support class, like priest. If that's undoable, but doable with say, a warlock, please tell. 70 > Class.

Input, bitte!  Heart

Ask around on the server you are rolling on, chances are, someone would love to hook up with you for a Friends promotion, which means you get to level 60 3x as fast, and they also adjusted 60-70 exp curve with the latest patch.  You could probably hit mid 40's / low 50's in a single Saturday worth of focused play with the friends benefits and a level 70 to help run you through instances.

If you are familiar with your faction and most of the quests for a leveling path, I think 70 in less then a month would be pretty doable.

Depends how casual is casual and how dedicated you are to just churning out the quests.  In theory it's possible to level to 70 in a /played of about 5.5 days but if you're being realistic then call it 7 or 8 days?   It really depends on whether you go in for mob grinding sessions (don't) or insist on levelling professions too. With a support class, I'm not sure but it's probably still doable.  Personally I'd say that you'd be better off choosing a lock or hunter because then you get your own personal tank.  Alternatively a pally or a lock because you get a mount for not a lot of money so don't have to worry about making sure you've got the money at level 30.

Best thing to do is get yourself a good powerlevelling guide (I recommend Jame's guides at http://www.wow-pro.com which is expertly presented and, above all, totally free) and start working through that. They're written to try to maximise xp gain through efficient levelling and can (mostly) all be done solo.

Thanks for the replies!

It seems like someone I know will actually tandem level with me just to enable the recruit-a-friend-bonus. It's nice when people are being nice to you?

And if my social life turns to shit (again), I'm blaming you people. awesome, for real

Jame's guide, questhelper, and cartographer. It virtually plays the game for you. You go where jame tells you to and get the quests and once they're up, questhelper puts them on your map and adds a little tag on critters you need to kill for the quest so you're not wasting your time on hunters when only grunts drop the foozle, oh and cartographer puts an arrow in the middle of your screen telling you where to go. The default is the closest quest, but Jame's will send you on circuits, so just click on what he tells you to and set the priority to high and your little arrow will go to that one.

If you can read this, you're on a board populated by misogynist assholes.

I get between ~1-2 levels per day when I play for ~1-2hrs a night on weekdays.  Without instance runs, too much support from higher levels, or a ton of rest xp.  So 70 in a month is sporty but likely possible if you play efficiently with a class that is good at dealing damage and surviving most encounters with minimal downtime (think 'lock or Hunter, though most any class can at least give it a try without too much pain).  You won't need to be in front of the machine 10hrs/day to get there, but substantial time will likely need to be invested regularly (3-4hrs/day) to do it.

Very doable if you have access to some cash.  Being able to buy a mount immediately and upgrade key gear (like weapons) makes all the difference.  I made my own pots to minimize downtime as well.  As posted above there are several good guides to help make it somewhat painless until you get to 62 or so.

It's very, very doable.  Hell, the amount of experience you get in Outlands right now is ridiculous.  On my Death Knight in the beta I hit Outlands at 58 - fresh from the DK newb zone.  When I left Hellfire I was 63 and I never set foot in an instance.  I skipped Terrorkar and I'm in Nagrand just plugging away at things.  I think my total /played time is only about 8 hours on the character.  I'd be in  Northrend already if I felt like focusing on the Beta instead of working on Live achievements.

If you want an idea of pretty much the bottom end of the scale I've managed 1-45 in 2 months with ~24 hours /played with the Recruit-a-friend thing, dual-boxing. My back injury has limited me to 20 minute play sessions, tops, so leveling is VERY slow. Someone healthier should easily do 4 times that leveling speed I reckon.

Good idea. Dual-boxing had completely slipped my mind as a possbility. I've even ordered a new computer just a few days ago. I've never *-boxed anything, so should be interesting just to try it out. smiley

I'll hop on this thread ,as considering returning and starting from scratch also , just a couple quick ?'s along the same lines as the OP

Mainly is the recruit-a-friend promo ending when the expansion comes out or have they announced any end date for it ?
And is there a general consensus for best combo for dual boxing (for overall just exploring and questing and so on ) -

Never thought would return but the expansion and it's pvp components really have me interested

I'm not certain, but I doubt they'll end recruit-a-friend.  The reason for it is to get people to the expansion content as quickly as possible.

Achievements are like having a "to do" list when I log in now.  It's yet another way to ding.

If only I could find a way to ding doing housework - my house would undoubtedly be sparkling.
