I finally played my first online match last night...I was amazed at how smooth it played and how non-annoying it was watching my opponent's shot (as opposed to watching the computer players in skins matches, which drives me up the fucking wall).
I definitely see the need for a voice conn now, so I will be picking up a headset soon.
Anyone up for a match? Add me to your friends list and embarrass me on the course.

Not that it's exactly the same or anything, but online matches of Tiger Woods 2004/2005 are pretty good as well. Compared to other titles, particularly Madden/NCAA, NASCAR, and Fight Night, the Tiger Woods online community is amazingly civil.
The only real detracting factors seem to be the debate over turbo (both games allow you to "boost" your power by tapping a button as you swing), in addition to quitters and cheaters. Smack talk is amazingly rare, especially since most of the people who play online are REALLY good, regularly shooting rounds in the 50's.
Though I don't expect it to happen, I'd love to see EA (or any other sports game provider) run a service that allowed cross-platform online play. I'd love to be able to play against Xbox owners.

However, I will still be at work when I do =P I have a poker tourney tonight, so I won't be around for XBL hijinks until 8 PST or so (unless I REALLY get my ass kicked and wash out early). |

I'm not sure how tourney's work.. do you have to all play at the same time or do you do your game on your own time and just see how you rank up?
