For those who cannot see the Bat Country sub forums, but who want to come along on our Frigate Club roaming op this weekend, here is a slightly-edited cross-post, tihout the ship-types.  At the time of writing, we already have a dozen sign-ups, but I imagine this will increase greatly by the time, since I only posted it about 18 hours ago.

If you can read the ops sub-forum, please sign up there, instead.

Remember that this is a frigates-only op, and even if you only have a trial account you are very welcome: become a Caldari Achura soldier, do a few hours of training to fit a warp scrambler and an afterburner, jump in a merlin or kestrel and come along.  Obvious spies will be admitted on a discretionary basis.  We traditionally had at least one known spy (and in Eborath's case, one genuine, medicated loony) along on previous ops, after all.

OK, it's been too long since I ran a proper, old-school Frigate Club op, and we even have people here now who have never been on one.  So here's the skinny.

When: form-up is on Saturday July 5th at 20:00 Eve Time.  We traditionally set off pretty sharpish so try to get there on time.  If you can't make it by the time we set off then you'll have a good chance of catching up since you will be in a small ship.

Ships: frigate class only.  I'm not an FC fond of suiciding ships en masse, but we are aggressive on these ops as a rule, so only bring what you are perfectly sanguine about the insurance gap on.  Acceptable ships are frigates, covops, interceptors, stealth bombers and assault frigates.  Destroyers are not frigates: I'll run a destroyer op soon, but this is not the time.

What to fit: special snowflakes in Harpies will be sitting a long way away, but our basic tactic is to have optimals just outside web and smartbomb range: if you get killed and I see a smartbomb on the lossmail I will point and laugh.  Everything except covops and stealth bombers should have a scrambler or disruptor fitted, inties should have a web if possible and if you are in a frigate or stealth bomber and can fit ewar modules then do so.  ECM on bonused ships, tracking disruptors and RSDs are all very welcome.  Target Painters are not funny, so don't be that person.  Be fitted for speed and agility.  We will probably be avoiding things plenty of the time.

Where: non-Bat people form up in Amarr and we'll tell you where to go from there.

Where?: get out, spy.  We are not going to Aridia (lowsec in ships without gate-ganking capability sucks), but we will be going somewhere with reds but without a decent intel channel.

Note that 20:00 Eve Time is 2100 UK time, early evening US time, indecently early but manageable Aussie time or ungodly o'clock by whatever moon time the rest of you use.  Make sure your clone is up to date.  Make sure your ship is insured.  Make sure you are not in your stupid implant clone because i will be very far from sympathetic if some smartbombing Typhoon sends you back home by the quick route.

Set up your default orbit in advance: choose a station gun, turn on your speed mod and try orbiting until you find one inside your guns' range but outside about 6.5km.  And I have to say this a bazillion times in every op: never sit still in frigate combat.  Especially never sit still with your MWD on begging for someone in a ratting raven to fire T1 torpedoes at you and still pop you.  If you don't know why then ask!

Most of all this is a social, fun operation for a laugh, so get some drinks in.

(Names and shiptypes involved so far redacted)

2 "Where" lines.

Intentional, and intended to indicate persistent questioning.  I have italicised the second as a stronger hint.

Assuming it's suitably generic and doesn't fall under "where" ... low-sec, 0.0 or a bit of both?   Just wondering if this will be blowing stuff up with or without consequences.

edit button addict.

Op was alot of fun, many thanks Endie and BAT. Enjoyed the light hearted fleet chat.

My Retribution was gloriously felled by half a dozen HACs, found myself 40km from the gate after attacking the crusader and was caught on the burn back.
