We're talking about genetic mutations, though. We're not at that point yet. Even attempting to get to that point is illegal in most countries, is it not?
While most such manipulation is illegal with humans, the strides made in this field basically mean controlled mutations are possible. Whether it's technological or natural is a semantic argument if the offspring has anything tweaked. It's just a matter of people deciding it's okay to muck about with humans instead of only animals. Not likely now, but in a few decades? A century? An eon? Reproductive technology could allow all kinds of options for parents by that point and people may not have any moral reservations against it by then.
Clones, two moms, two dads, transgenics, genetic maniplation. Most of it we've already done in plants or animals.
That doesn't mean men will die out. A few thousand years of knowledge and we'll be able to fix the problem
if it actually starts to manifest. We've got 125,000 years to sort things out. We'll have more trouble surviving that long as a race before we have to worry about the Y chromosome fading away.
