Well, as I knew would happen, I've been invited to play a weekly game in memorium. 1st edition, 3 core books only, no fudging, 3d6 in order, live and die by the charts.

I'm actualy really looking forward to it. I may have to dig out the old light blue d20 that can only be read from 3 inches away.
WoTC currently has Tomb of Horrors up for a free download, updated for 3.5. Our DM is wanting to run it -- probably with disposable characters, because he wants to run it old school.

It's actually kicked off a bit of a drive to resurrect some old modules that no one but him has even played, and no one but me and him are even familiar with. There was discussion about adapting some of the first 1E modules to D20 modern.

Our idea for Drow was rather off the wall. (Drow armed with rail-guns, nanite bodyshields, genetically enhanced reflexes, and composite chameleon armor. Now that's fun shit. Too bad their technology is rather fragile, and breaks down if not shielded well underground....)
