For the past 2 years I've had nothing but problems when formatting my desktop. I have 2 hard drives and each time I format the windows partition it takes the second drive with it for no apparent reason. So, I'm wondering if just disconnecting the second drive throughout the whole format process would possibly save the drive from being wiped.

I know of one good way to find out  awesome, for real

Seriously though, it probably is to do with whatever program you're using to do the formatting defaulting to formatting both. These are two physical drives and not one drive partitioned right?

Yes. Disconnect the second drive while you re-install.

Worked fine, thank god. I couldn't handle having to download everything on my second drive again. Thanks for the confirming advice. Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?
