I was very tired today around 2 PM, so I decided to take a nap and I had my FIRST dream about playing a game.  I don't know what it was, but it looked like HG:L only a bazillion times better and it was the best game I ever played.  I looked over at Righ, who was also playing a game, and I knew that what ever it was, it couldn't be as good as the game I was playing.  Nothing could.  I jumped into a mine shaft just as I leveled up in an explosion of flashing lights and colours and found my cat trying to suck my breath out of me.  I also have a terrible headache.   undecided

My Sig Image: hath rid itself of this mortal coil.

Ookii, it's not useless news. It's a discussion thread.

I've actually never had a dream where I'm actively playing a game or looking at a game screen. But I've had dreams involving games.

I've had dreams where I was playing a game, usually I end up in the game.  Often, at that point, I kick a lot of ass.

They tend to be pretty good dreams.

I always feel like shit when I nap in the middle of the day though so I don't do it.

I've had Everquest dreams, back when I was playing heavily because I was a guild leader. Mostly they were dreaming I was IN the game instead of playing it.

I love naps. I wish I could take one every day.

I have them about Warcraft mixed with Starcraft mixed with Jurassic Park. Running from dinosaurs while chasing down zerg bases with your group of marines and mages!

I'd play that game.

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

It's actually not too uncommon for me to dream of gaming and have the game I'm dreaming of seem much more awesome than the games I was playing that day.  Then, some time after I woke up, I realize a fundamental reason why it would never work IRL.  Curse you, dream physics!

Last game dream was Dwarf Fortress.  Woke up with a stiffer neck than usual.  My Titan Quest dream had horrible loot.

It's a fairly common thing to do: Dreaming of a challenging new task, usually something you feel you could improve one. Seems to be the brain's way of giving 'practice'
When first learning the Tow II missile systems, I had dreams for weeks of shooting up cars and tanks. Same thing happened with Tetris. Dunno if I got better at Tetris because of it though.

I had a dream back in EQ days, just like Haemish. In the dream I turned into my Dark Elf female shadowknight. Now, what was wierd is that instead of contemplating my fantasy body hotness and fondling myself, I actually went on an xp grind.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

The dreams you have after playing Dead Rising a lot just own.  I don't know how you can have pleasant zombie mallpocalypse dreams, but I did.

If you want the most restless night of sleep in your life try playing something like Doom for 14 straight hours before bed. Nothing like your brain running through endless repetitive mazes 8 hours after you've stopped playing.

Tetris.

But yea, a few years ago, after some heavy Starcraft & Counter-Strike gametime, i had a particularly vivid dream where my High Templar was casting psistorm on some marines, and the little CS kill scroll was appearing in the corner of the screen as they died, which said "a High Templar has killed a Marine with Headshot from Britney Spears".

True story.

I dreamt in text once; rather than experiencing the dream in first-person I was reading it.  I've heard some people say that you can't read in dreams because the readingy part of your brain is shut down, but that's bollocks; I've focused on signs and letters and such in dreams before and been able to clearly read 'em.  And there've been a couple times that I realized I was dreaming, those are always fun.

I played Diablo 1 for so long at one point that I couldn't close my eyes without seeing my blue globe and red globe in my periphery. It was scary.

whenever I take naps, it completely wrecks the day. I have a hard time getting out of sleepy mode.
