Yeah. That's what scientologists get. Does it strike anyone else hilarious that scientology and scientologists are both red underlined on the spellchecker?

Plants are living beings to. Humans to survive live on death we have to kill and eat other things be it plant or animal to survive. I think plants have as much or as little right to live as anything else but they will all fall before me and get into my belly if they are tasty.

They smell funny, doubt they would taste good.
Cows smell funny too, and they're delicious.

Are cloned sheep ok to eat? They don't have a soul, and we're the ones who gave them the brain.

Uh, cows, pigs, etc? These aren't exactly what I think of when I think of lovely odors. They do, however, taste exceptional in a bun.

I'm guessing they have objections to sucking meatrod or getting their turkey stuffed by meat lovers....

Actually there are people who say they only eat fruits because those evolved/are meant to be eaten (as their means of seed dispersion). Of course in reality there would be no way to survive just eating fruit so they must supplement that with other stuff on the side/sly.
Guess they don't believe in Genesis. Motherfuckin' Eve, screwing up everything. And don't hand me no lines about some snake leading her on like it was entrapment. Actually, that'd be funny, have the snake convince Eve to munch on an apple and suddenly Chris Hansen comes walking out from behind the tree asking her to explain why she ate it. Then a camera crew comes running out, she takes off and God boots her out of the garden.

Cows smell funny too, and they're delicious. Cows, and pigs, are not vegetarians though. So they smell just fine, it is just the lack of suitable toilet facilities that makes them smell awful. Feed lots really need cow toilets, toilet paper and running water.

As a vegetarian it's fun to see you guys run down the list of common stereotypes.
Keep up the good work!

You fell into the chasm. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be green. If not, there is an episode of Mythbusters solely about ESP and the experiments with a polygraph on plants.
No green, no sarchasm. There was an interesting paper on how a species of plant could tell its siblings were growing nearby through chemical signals and reduce its growth. If non-siblings were growing next to it then it was more aggressive in trying to absorb water and nutrients.

Bacon tastes good... pork chops taste good...
That about sums up my thoughts on eating habits.

Also... you might want to rethink that whole "Cows are not vegetarians" thing.

Everything in this room is eatable, even *I'm* eatable! But that is called "cannibalism," my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies.

The March 25, 2002 issue of Hoard's Dairyman (the dairy farmers magazine) reveals a mixed menu of gourmet foods in a dairy cow's diet, including chicken feathers, blood, pork, fish, and soybeans. http://www.notmilk.com/forum/859.html

That is what farmers feed cows. Give the poor beast options and you will find its pretty much the youngest graze it can find. Pigs, bears, and dogs (to a lesser extent) are omnivorous. Interesting enough dogs seem to have evolved to eat skin and bones. But they wont turn down a grasshopper or snake either.

Considering the shitty dog food most people feed their dogs, it's no surprise that dogs will eat insects or even turds out of the cat box.

Signe wolves should, but not dogs. they will both eat what they can get when hungry. And this is all in my opinion of course. No references are fourth comming. But as an akc breeder of bloodhounds I feel like I can make some obseravations about the animal. Of course I could be wrong.

Was the cause of the aggressive growth due to species competition or truly because the plant's brothers and sisters were around?

All the same species of plant. The researcher harvested seeds from different plants and carefully mixed them into plots with mixed neighbors and all siblings. If all the seeds were from the same parent, they were less aggressive in their growth than the mixed.
