Code:
Open beta is starting next week! Grab a client here and get ready for the best time you'll have all summer in a MMORPG game:

    * The Open Beta officially starts at 5:00am (ET)/9:00 am GMT on Monday August 30th, and will end Thursday, September 14th.
    * You will need a valid account to participate. If you need an account, register here!
    * Client downloads are available via BitTorrent or direct download. You can also find clients at Fileplanet and GameDaily!
    * All civilizations and territories will be available.

If you were looking to play the game, there's your information. I'm deathly afraid that it's nowhere near ready for release or open beta (considering where it was 3 months ago), but I could be wrong.

I'm actually in it right now.

You guys were ABSOLUTELY right.

Fucking beautiful world, and have way decent history, but you don't feel like you're there.

Great world, nothing to do.

I think there's a good amount of interesting stuff under the skin. But well masked below an *insane* grind in its purest form.

Good ideas but badly held together.

Slowest. Torrent. Ever.

Speaks volumes of its popularity. Maybe its a hit with people with old modems.

Well, that aside... you are totally correct about Ryzom.  Did I mention not to download it?

Some great concepts, but poorly combined into a game.  Let's hope someone borrows some of the good stuff and adds it to a coherent gaming experience.

I downloaded the client today and logged in to see what it was all about.  There is a very small amount of sound effects in the game, so it's like playing a game with all the sound turned off.  It also took me about three or four minutes to kill one of the newbie mobs with the starting weapon...... that's not a good start.  Oh, I crashed a couple of times also.  Wheee!

How do these companies expect to survive in such a flooded MMO market with even more mammoth games on the horizon (EQ2/WoW)?  I don't see how this game will attract any sort of player base.

Oh... my... god.  I dl-ed this last night for shits and giggles.  It made me do neither.

What I saw will forever haunt me.  An mmog so ugly, with an interface so awkward... Oh god, no.  No I don't want to remember it anymore.

They need to package a grapefruit spoon with this game so people can gouge their eyes out after playing it.

Oh, and BEING ABLE TO UNINSTALL would be nice.  Fucking hell what a bad game.

Yeah. Don't know what happened there. The previous beta clients installed and had uninstallers and made appropriate reg entries. This installer really just extracts the game files to a directory of your specification. Since it makes no reg changes/additions, there's no need for an uninstaller. Just delete the directory you extracted the files to. Hell, that's what most unsavvy users do when they "uninstall" a program anyhow. I love cleaning up those messes. ;)

So, your real name is "Regclean"?

Ryzom crafting bored me to tears when I tried it (you gain X skill points per crafter level, and spend those skill points on recipes. Which means a ton of grinding just to be able to make the next thing. In SWG, at least you started out with the ability to craft a bunch of things for the variety), and combat wasn't much more interesting.

Prediction: Will sink like a dud outside of its native France.

Current: Mario Kart DS, Nintendogs
