Title: Cold Winter.
Post by: Fabricated on August 27, 2005, 11:35:24 PM
It's too bad I didn't pick this up on release, it needed more good reviews. It's down to $20 now, which means it didn't sell worth shit. Too bad really.

You know how every Bond game after Goldeneye basically sucked? Cold Winter actually gets it right for the most part.

Short Version:
-Okay graphics (Eh, renderware), solid framerate though.
-Good controls (about as good as you can get with the PS2 controller)
-Decent voice acting, interesting plot, use of the word "fuck". Really strong accents though, I can barely understand the scottish guy.
-Actual environment interaction. Interactive stuff (bodies, tables, etc) have a small menu that pops up when looked at. Bodies can be searched, small items thrown, and tables/heavy items can be dragged pushed and used to create cover (which is handled automatically when you choose it).
-Item creation. Wire cutters and wire pieces can be used to create lockpicks, cloth bottles and fuel make moltov cocktails, C4 can be combined with alarm clocks and fuel to make fire bombs, and so on and so on.

Not bad.
