I lost this week because all my players are terrible, despite Yahoo somehow thinking this is not the case.

It seems like there are maybe like 10 reliably good players in the league.  Everyone else is terrible, or at best, unpredictable.

Keep in mind, there has been no preseason games, and limited training camp practice, so a lot of these times are getting their first game situation practice during games. The first few weeks of the season are always a little sloppy, and these first few weeks are going to be more so.

I feel more like it is a consequence of the evolution of rule changes and how it has changed the game so much over the past 5 years or more.  Who is going to be an amazing RB this year?  WHO KNOWS!  You cannot count on anyone any longer.  Just as true for WRs and QBs.

RB's are so hit or miss because everything revolves on the passing game now, plus the CBA punishes teams who pay for mid-range vets who are on their second contract. Since RB's tend to break down right about the time they'd be signing that second contract, and thus can rarely find work unless they are still somehow healthy and productive, the RB pool is usually made up of the good 5-10 RB's who are on teams that still use them (or use them in the passing game) and a bunch of scrubs who were good in college but can't handle the wear and tear of the NFL. WR's are suffering from a similar situation - if they aren't top-tier, they will struggle to get a second contract, and most WR's don't even get competent at the position until the 3rd year. They don't have nearly the injury problems as RB's but there's a lot more of them.

It is interesting how important being a receiving RB like Nick Chubb, who I did not start because I'm used to hating on the Browns and blinded by optimism for Joe Burrows...  :uhrr:

Yeah, I benched Mahomes because I didn't expect the game to go on (it probably shouldn't have). What's worse is that it wouldn't have mattered as much as the fact that Leonard Fournette was out for the game, which I didn't see until the games had already started. Latavius Murray giving me 20 points would have won me this week no matter who I started at QB. Fuck the Bucs.

EDIT: Of course, the only reason I was close is because Robert Tonyan got 3 TD's, and I'd just picked him up on the wire on a lark. And of course, this week he's on a bye.

I can't believe the Patriots got away with only Newton and one other person testing positive.  Hopefully there's not a wave in a few days.
