Title: In my insomnia my brain comes up with crazy ideas
Post by: schild on April 14, 2004, 02:15:24 AM
I logged in around 5am today, and realized a really need mission custmization routine they could put into the game.

1. Group of 2-8 go see Lady Liberty, or the Police Chief, or some other Hero style NPC (rather than a 'contact').

2. You pick the zone you want a mission in - the hero responds, we have x available missions (all isntanced).

3. You pick your mission and the instance automagically scales to your level.

That way you don't have to go SEARCHING for guys your level every time you log in. Between level 11-14 I've found the searching to be a periodic problem.

It may not be the 'best' idea or even a sound idea, but I think customized missions would make for easy to create game content and would start using all those buildings in places like King's Row that NEVER have people walking up to them.

Food for thought...

Not a bad idea but most zones have a pretty narrow band of levels of mobs so as long as you are looking in a level appropriate zone finding things to smack down is not to hard. Also different locations inside zones often have a certain set of gangs. Its a matter of getting used to where to look fer them.

Unless the zone is level limited, I have not seen a great disparity on having a wide selection of level characters in the same group and instance.  The sidekick system is wonderful.  Last night I was grouped with a 10th level tanker as the prime and the rest of the group was 7/8 and we all flew up in the xp.  So far, the game seems very lax in letting various level characters help out the rest of the characters.

One thing I have noticed though, if you have two healers, the group is generally golden unless you get a blaster with an itchy trigger finger or if your group has a controller the battles generally become peicemeal affairs that are way way more stable.

High combat dynamic from the start, who would have thunk it.
