For those who wanted it, I'm running the Fantasy Football League this year.

Go Here to see if your team is still there (https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/385158). It's currently set for 12 teams, with a live draft on Sat. Aug 31 @ 4 pm CDT (5pm EST, 2 pm PST).

Looking to swap places with one of you two this year.

If anyone wants my spot, ... work is a total grind right now, haven't the time nor energy to take FFB seriously this season.

Just tell me what teams to remove (or remove yourself if you can) and I can figure out an invite situation.

I think i was able to delete my team from the league (Slow, But Injured).

You did it. The league has one open slot if anyone wants to join to be all you can be.

Is this slot still open?

Draft is TODAY at 4 pm CDT (2 pm PDT, 5 pm EDT). Don't forget (like I did last year even though I was commissioner).

It’s auto by default, no?  I couldn’t find the setting.

It is - if you don't show up, it will draft off either your rankings or Yahoo's if you haven't bothered to rank.

Crap. Forgot about the draft.  :awesome_for_real:

I don't think I would have picked any of the people the computer picked.  But the same computer graded me as the best draft so....

Yahoo gave me a C+ for my draft  :awesome_for_real: :heartbreak:

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019

I set an alarm for the draft and still missed it.  That said, I'm pretty happy with the auto-draft apart from my QBs and the two kickers...

I had trouble with the interface and auto-drafted Davante Adams with my first pick, but ended up getting who I was trying to draft (Mahomes) coming back down. I doubt I would have gone with Adams if I had gotten Mahomes first, but oh well. I think I did reasonably well. My WRs are a bit dicey, but anyone outside of the top 25 or so are basically fungible; I can raid the waiver wire and play matchup games if necessary.

Grats to The Invalids, who get to play me week 11 when 457% of my team is on bye.

My team is a bit odd.  Got Cam, not sure what I think about that.  Got Ezekiel Elliot, not sure what I think about that.  Got some nobody named Miles Peterson, whom Yahoo made fun of me for picking, only to find out that Philly then waved the bastards in front of him on the depth chart.  Etc.  The usual cast of Could Be Amazing, but Probably Not.

Thanks to autodraft for filling out the second half of my roster with two QBs, two TEs and two defenses.  Especially for the Colts defense, steal of the draft right there!

This fills me with hope when I did my own draft and have no kicker and yahoo took the cowboys defence for me...  :heartbreak:
Is there a limit to how many waiver wire pick ups you can make?  :awesome_for_real:

Looks like Autodraft figured out I live in Atlanta, so I got Matt Ryan and Austin Hooper.

Except I loathe the Falcons, buncha suckasses.

Matt Ryan should still give you decent points. Wide receiver is going to be a whole bunch of guessing this season though.

I can get onboard with loathing the suckass Falcons....but aren’t you a Cowboys fan?  If there was a Super Bowl for suckasses, they’d be the Patriots of that sumbitch  :awesome_for_real:

Which of course puts me in the difficult situation of having to root for Ezekiel Elliot, since he is on my team and now signed.  I hate that ugly prick.

I was born in Dallas and went for 10 years to games, it's sort of my ride or die team now (mostly because of not doing anything for 25 years.) I'm not converting to Arthur Blank's shit parade, though. The closest they've gotten ever to a title is 28-3.

Matt Ryan is gonna go apeshit this year. The team might not be great, but his numbers should make him a top 5 FF QB.

That's if they can get this stupid Julio contract done.

37 points from a DEFENSE????

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: HaemishM on September 15, 2019, 05:59:55 PM
To be fair, it WAS against the Dolphins, who clearly don't even have enough talent to compete against a goddamn FBS ranked team, much less the NFL.

Looks like I'll be squeaking out another win despite my wideouts shitting the bed and Deshaun Watson having a terrible game. Also, fuck me if Drew Brees is hurt for any significant time, because he's my backup and I'm pretty sure the waiver wire for QBs is slim ass pickings.

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: Cyrrex on September 16, 2019, 10:16:53 AM
He is out for 6 weeks.  OTOH, he will probably still score more points in that period than Cam Fucking Newton.

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: HaemishM on September 16, 2019, 11:40:21 AM
Well fuck. At least Watson's bye isn't until week 10 so I don't have to worry too much about Brees being there. OFF TO THE WAIVER WIRE.

Chicago Defense didn't let me down! Also Hat got screwed by having his entire receiving corp score a whopping 11.6 points.

First win of the year! WOOOO!

My team sucks and I just lost Saquon.

Turns out you didn't need him, as Deshaun Watson is playing like his ACL is still torn and Nick Chubb can't carry my team.

Sony Michel beat me in one league, and in the one league where I roster him it wasn't enough to win that matchup.  Fuck the Patriots so hard.

Having two of your starters out and not really having a decent QB all season really hoses your championship game.

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: Flood on December 30, 2019, 01:56:19 PM
Chiming in 10 days later and all but - finally, after years of playing in this league I come out of the cellar to win it all. (note to self - there's no flex and 3 WR's).  I took a chance that Lamar Jackson was going to strain the rules of fantasy with his rushing and how it's scored and it paid off.  Also championship game was a bad beat for MM with otherwise reliable players taking shits at the exact wrong time.  And the Indy defense scoring 30 against Cam's backup was ugly.

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: HaemishM on December 30, 2019, 09:29:47 PM
I drafted Deshaun Watson for the same reason you went after Lamar Jackson. Only Deshaun wasn't nearly as consistent and Drew Brees going out for 5 weeks didn't help me either. Still, my biggest problem was not having a consistent 3rd wide receiver. Thanks a lot Kirk Cousins!

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: Cyrrex on December 31, 2019, 04:23:09 AM
Kirk Cousins ended up being my main QB, and that’s fucking depressing.  I have no idea how I finished third or whatever.

Title: Re: Fantasy Football 2019
Post by: HaemishM on December 31, 2019, 12:09:53 PM
Cousins stats overall were actually decent - not a lot of picks. He just wasn't consistent, especially in the big games, and he didn't always hit guys like Stefon Diggs enough. Watson's inconsistency was almost exactly the same - he only had about 60 more points than Cousins, and Cousins had about 6 more points than Brees owing to not missing any games. Lamar Jackson had almost 400 points.  :ye_gods:

Holy shit - Watson was 4th in fantasy points for QB BEHIND JAMEIS WINSTON. THE FUCK? Top 6 total offensive points guys in order - Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffery, Dak Prescott, Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson. Half of those guys didn't make the playoffs. Kirk Cousins was #22 among all offensive players. The only wideout in the top 25 was Michael Thomas at #19. Seems like a top wideout isn't really all that big a deal.

Somewhere out there is a team with Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey and the Patriots defense.
