Title: Hitman "2"
Post by: eldaec on October 19, 2018, 03:41:16 AM
Hitman "2" is happening November 11th.

It looks very similar to the approach of the 2016 version, relatively few huge levels that are genuinely replayable using different approaches. Also all the 2016 maps are included and they are still great. It is not episodic release but not sure how maps this version is getting. I don't care really. Happy to give money for more 2016 style hitman.

Also they have Sean Bean as a target. Which is cool.

And a multilayer 'race to kill the target' mode that I don't care about.

The 2016 release is absurdly discounted on Steam. Is it worth picking up if all the maps are in the new version or should one wait engine updates and whatnot?

Current humble bundle monthly gives hitman, 7 days to die, and Hallow Knight for $12

Worth it for 7D2D alone (I have something like 350 hours on the alpha). New alpha release getting closer, and full retail release isn't much farther off. Good time to pick it up.

It turns out the 2016 maps are a dlc for unknown cost if don't have the original.

So it is probably worth it.

From the videos I don't think the engine has had massive updates.

Do the humble versions come with steam keys and is the humble version the same at the steam offering content wise?

Yep.

Edit: The key you get with Humble is exactly as described. Tends to be just the base game. Any sort of Steam deal may come with more (DLC, etc) for a favorable price.

The humble version is 'the complete season' so you're good.

The steam version includes the patient zero extra missions but seems not to include the bonus episode missions that you get in 'complete season' .

The differences are nbd. Both have all the maps.
