Title: Be careful with Windows 10 Oct 2018 update, may delete documents
Post by: Trippy on October 05, 2018, 09:59:09 AM
The Windows 10 1809 October 2018 update is apparently deleting some users' documents.

Currently only a manual install so do so at your own risk.

If you run win10 pro, set your advanced update options to semi-annual channel. That will give you 4 or so months before a feature update can be installed.

If you are willing to risk third party software, OOSU10 (https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10) also allows you to defer updates, and block a load of other unwanted features.

Please note again that this is third party software that may sell you and your computer to Chinese cannibals. Use at your own risk.

But it does a good job of blocking those updates until everybody else has been used to beta test them.
