Title: Best Little Known Games?
Post by: jgsugden on September 12, 2018, 10:38:03 PM
What are your favorite games that few people know about?  I'm not talking about games in the top 200 at BGG...

Die Kutschfahrt zur Teufelsburg is a fun little card game that is out of print and doesn't have an English printing, although there is a bastardized version called Castle of the Devil.  It is a quick little filler game for a large number of people if you can find it.

Firing this thing off with foreign games?

I feel like everything from Kanai Factory that isn't Love Letter or Chronicle counts.

Mai-Star and Master merchant are p great.

Anything most people don't know, but you enjoy. Foreign, old, small company, limited release... I'd ask that we not be ducks and fish other people's recommendations, but this is f13.

Oh god. Talisman is Munchkin levels of bad. It starts off ok, some neat stuff that's fun the first time you see it, but two hours in, you're just ugh, can somebody win this fucking thing already?

Kamisado is a super neat two player abstract strategy game that takes a minute to explain to a new player and 10 minutes to play.

Talisman is really well known.

I own a bunch of 18xx games that I think are great that not many people know of or own...

Leaving Earth is kinda fun. Gloobz is cool, especially with kids.

Most of my less well known games I've still yet to play!

You don’t.  Your shame is forever exposed, much like those who have Talisman on the shelf.  I just got Dicetopia in, and I think that’s my favorite game this year after a couple plays.

You can’t make me, MOM.

Also any of John Clowdus’ other games other than Omen, but we’ve talked that one to death.

Hex Hex is a nice little filler game as well.  Sort of a good drinking game quality card game.  No Thanks is another game to fill time.

Ubongo is a bit like head to head Tetris.  My wife loves it.
