Pretty sure the alternative title is "we made a game with narration based on 'this is what dumb people think smart people sound like.'"

I want it?

It was like a jazz, trying to see just how jazzed up it can get!

The flipping bears and wolves were what threw me I think.  :why_so_serious:

Yeah, the entire premise is interesting as an experience. I'm not sure why they used that flipping animation, no animation would actually be better.

It's $15. I paid $60 for no man's sky, so who knows. Maybe I'll grab it and get stoned next weekend.

Yes, you do.  Absolutely.  So do I.

Peter Molyneaux thinks it looks good.  :oh_i_see:

On the Wright-Molyneux scale, this is a straight-up contender.

I have this bad habit of scrolling down to the bottom of a page before I click videos.  Tim Schaefer?

The narrating voice is not some random Peter Molyneux. It is Alan Watts, who recorded than back in the 60s I believe. That doesn't mean much, especially for the "game", but I think it was worth clarifying for those who missed it.

I was pretty sure it was just vintage VO reel. Best part of the video (other than flipping bear)

What it means is that they licensed old stock instead of hiring VO talent.

The game is inspired and influenced by Alan Watts' thoughts, so hiring VO talent would have been silly considering all the recordings Watts left. Regardless, I have a hard time imagining having any kind of fun with this after ten minutes toying around, but curious I am.

"Walking animations are hard, let's just make them roll. And let's do it in stop-motion four-frame, so we don't have to worry about legs and heads clipping on the terrain."

I bought it; had a free $10 sitting in my wallet so paying $5.00 real dollars isn't terrible.

The animations are weird to watch in a video but really don't end up being a big deal while playing. I can't say I like it yet, but I think it's something I may need some time with. It is a neat experiment though.

Isn't just a sort of Katamari?  Instead of rolling a big ball of stuff, you are the stuff, rolling and meet other stuff and roll that in volume until you're a planet?

No, not at all. You ascend and descend into larger and smaller things, while exploring. It's not really a game at all, more like a interactive movie, or experience. The entire premise is exploring the relationships between I and Us, how we connect.  Look up Alan Watts for more  info, if you don't like his philosophy you likely won't enjoy the experience.

I figure one bowl and three beers.  YMMV.
