Title: Goliath

On Amazon Prime.

Stars Billy Bob Thornton, William Hurt, Maria Bello.

I've seen the first 3 episodes - worth watching.

Binged it.  I think there were 7 eps?

Starts off very strong, starts wavering on about episode 4 and finishes in a ditch.  Still worth watching imo.  Some good performances.
If you watched Dexter and never hated it for its flaws you could love this.

On episode 4.  Excellent.  In some way, bog standard thriller, but man the acting -- Molly Parker (from Deadwood), Tania Raymonde (Lost), plus the others as Xanthippe mentioned.  Must be kudos to the Production for not scrimping on anything -- very naturalistic -- and the Direction is right on.  You can tell because even the incidental actors (like the kids) are not hammy.  And every scene sometimes seems just long enough (another good sign).

And Billy Bob Thornton... man Sling Blade made me cry.  I really like him and wish he would do more.  Very compelling.

As usual: "I hate everything, and especially stuff on TV" but this (so far) is GOOD.

I just blew through season 2 in the last week. It is as good as the first, maybe even slightly more believable. Mark Duplass is basically his character from the Creep movies.

Very light spoilers regarding the season theme:

Season 1 was good, possibly one of the best "Legal Dramas" ever. Season 2...was a thing they did. It had most of the same characters, but where the first had fantastic directing, writing, and acting, the second season felt like *everyone* was just phoning it in.

I got to the 7th episode, realized that I didn't even remember enough of the plot to care how they resolved it, and stopped. Yes, episodes I had just barely watched left no impression on me at all.

Glad I hadn't waited 2 years for the second season, or I might have tried to convince myself it wasn't terrible.

I liked the story a lot more in the first season especially when it came to the court-room stuff (which the second season severely lacked)

S3 dropped, I found the first two episodes to be an attempt at being weird and metaphysical. Then ep3 circled things back to S1, which is very intriguing. I'm interested to see how this progresses.

Binged Season 2 yesterday on the couch with a cold.  Decent crime actioney drama stuff.  A bit of Breaking Bad vibe.

Started Season 3.  It's definitely channeling David Lynch now.  Strongly.  Not over the top nonsensical bizarro like Twin Peaks S3, more of a S1 feel.  Kind of a weird turn for the show, but I like it.
There was 1 super Lynchian bit in S2 towards the end too, the captive in a house stuff.
