Title: Duelyst
Post by: lamaros on September 13, 2016, 01:07:04 AM
This is very fun game. Didn't have a thread so here one is.

Cross between M:tG/Hearthstone and Pox Nora.

Can play draft or constructed.

It's a bit light, with randomness and some goofy elements, but it's lot of fun and does have some skill. Much recommended over Hearthstone at the least.

Edit: Been playing more. This game has a huge amount of potential if they can get it right. Yes, it's a bit Hearthston-y, but the board play brings in a much high skill ceiling in my view, and card and comp format development could easily push this further towards the Hex side of things.

Lead designer is Eric M. Lang of boardgame fame (Chaos in the Old World, Blood Rage, Arcadia Quest).

I almost kickstarted this, but then I remembered I hated every tactics game ever made that tried to mesh it with CCGs.

Culdcept is the only non-card-based sort of variation I've enjoyed.

Well, I quite liked Pox Nora (at the very start before they fucked it) so I can't say this is necessarily going to be an exception. However it is free to play at the least, and quite fun for me.
