Been leeching Dish Anywhere for a while, noticed we had access to Cinemax (which is still VERY MUCH Skinemax - never change). Anyway. Banshee.

It's fucking great.

It is so ridiculous and still so awesome.  The fight between Nola and Clay had to be the most brutal scene ever put on TV.

The fights are fantastic. Ivana Milicevic is naked in 50% of the episodes. And the trans dude is hilarious.

This belongs on HBO.

I've been addicted to this for ages.  It's one of those ones that you really, really have to suspend disbelief, but it's good.

Hot Amish Girl is extremely hot.  Swimming scene got watched quite a few times.  She was also in True Detective where she got her ass out.  Lovely.

I literally don't remember single girl from True Detective besides Alexandra Daddario. She... uh, yeah.

But for real, yes. Cinemax in America has a reputation for producing total shit unless softcore porn is your thing.

Alexandra Daddario confused the hell out of me in that though due to being superhot and awesome and then my brain pinged where I'd seen her and it was Percy Jackson.

Great show, though I'm taking a break from it for a few weeks because the last episode I watched just pissed me off. Without spoiling, they kill off a character (they do this quite a bit) that I liked. No biggie, that happens. Its just that they devoted an entire episode to killing this character. Not just foreshadowing - completely and utter hammering of "Enjoy this episode - it's an hour long death march to a character you like. Fuck you!"

I'm sold after reading that.  Always looking for commuter train TV.

Oh no, I've been watching from day 1.  I thought we had a thread about it here already actually.

Worth noting, its probably the most over the top physically violent show I've ever seen on tv. Each season has at least one fight that lasts for ten minutes of screen time, in which both participants lose about 3 gallons of blood. The winner is usually sprinting around town three days later. This isn't a criticism by any means. This season features a ten minute fight between a supermodel and a psycho flagellant, that opens with a tomahawk to the chest

Fair warning is appreciated, but I generally have at least a one seat buffer and the train population is 70% men so my neighbor will probably thank me.

That said, nudity is less awkward than explicit sex scenes.  How much of the latter?

I don't know how f13 likes a show where the entire cast basically worships the main characters penis. Is it the inclusion of this shows versions Lafayette? Or the fact that he beats up a woman beater to a career ending stompage on the 3rd episode. It feels like a combination of tv exec/female wish fulfillment. Lets have a total badass ex-thief, ptsd, heart of gold, bad boy, sex god.... be the sheriff of a socially diverse town with exactly 2 black people in it and who just happens to be still in love with his one true love that totally left him to rot in prison for like 15 years. I'm plodding through season 1 but man, its like the show exist to have its cake and eat it too and grin at you with the frosting still dripping down to its back gums.

How can you not fucking like this show? seriously...

I do (like) but I wouldn't list this as a guilty pleasure which I'm starting to suspect that's what it is.

Cinemax ya knob. I'm trolling for content because I have a TV on 8 hours a day. This is the best thing I've seen, ever, on this godforsaken channel.

I finished the first season yesterday on the train home.  Not a bad show to watch while commuting. I think you guys over-described the sex.  While the scenes were Skinemax worthy, they were generally short-lived. I will definitely download season 2 once I finish the latest Homeland, WD, Justified and Americans.

So this is ending after next season, which frankly is probably ok.  We are only getting 8 episodes though, which kinda sucks.

Hopefully they'll do a proper ending since there's no uncertainty on the show's future.

Dunno if it's fluff or not, but they said this was what they wanted, so I'm guessing we'll have a decent ending.

I love this show, but I actually agree that as a concept it needs wrapped up.  There's only so much credibility stretching you can do and while tits gets you along, it doesn't extend forever.
