WTF is this shit? I've seen people posting about it on facebook but I assumed it was a stupid drinking game or something. Didn't realize it was a mobile game.

It's pretty much a drinking game, really.

It also owes its initial plethora of 5 star ratings to botting from the developer.  :oh_i_see:

Can we stop supporting garbage in this forum?  First a cow clicker, then the DK shitter, and now this?

One man's garbage is another man's treasure!

Step 1) Reskin flash-game that has existed for nearly a decade (copter/helicopter/whatnot), perhaps longer
Step 2) Release clone on AppStore & Google Play
Step 3) ???? (or, alternatively: Use bots/other shenanigans to boost ratings and/or download numbers so you reach top rank)
Step 4) Profit!

Apparently the guy behind Flappy Bird was so overwhelmed by the popularity that he's taking the game off of the market.  He's actually taking the advice that if you can't handle the heat, to get out of the fire.

Rumor going 'round teen circles is he actually did it because a kid stabbed his 2 year old brother 12 times, which was his flappy bird score before the 2 year old broke the game.  :awesome_for_real:

I tried to convince my daughter this was not the case, but since she hear it from friends it was of course the absolute truth.  Teens are so silly and illustrate so much of the stupid in the world when you talk to them.

x3  This shit is dire.

I'm kinda over this since the different versions aren't really comparable. You can easily get hundreds in the iOS version, but not so much with the choppy Android game.

But that said, 42, on Galaxy S4. I'm happy with that.

Has anyone made Fappy Bird yet?  If not, do it.  I'm too busy with schoolwork, but I'm sure it will make bank.

This whole Flappy Bird thing has convinced me that I need to start cranking out shitty iOS games that are hard to play while drunk and wait for one of them to go viral so I can retire.  It really seems like that's all there is to it.

That and botting your ratings so you're noticed.

Except none of the botting rumors actually proved true. I'm not going to defend a shitty game, but 75% of the shit people have said about the developer is bullshit to explain how the game was more popular than "better" games with bigger backing.

I'd be willing to bet it was 10% having "bird" in the name and 90% luck.

Hence my theory of just cranking them out and waiting for lightning to strike.
