Title: Star Trek Online Mini-Rad (New Fed Tutorial and First Mission)
Post by: Tannhauser on November 15, 2013, 06:15:29 AM
I am Soruk of Vulcan.  For four years I have studied at Starfleet Academy on Earth.  My grades were, of course, top of the class.  Today is Graduation Day.

After talking with some of my fellow cadets I report to Captain Taggart.  Naturally, he promotes me to his senior staff.

The captain sends me to Flores, a fellow cadet, and as it turns out, my competitor for the tactical station on the captain's ship.  She laughs at my omission of advanced phaser training and leads me to the holodeck. I find human laughter disagreeable.  Especially from her.

I do so well in the phaser simulator the captain promotes me to First Officer.  Of course, Flores cannot contain her jealously.  It's unbecoming of a Starfleet officer.

Flores and I board a shuttle to our new ship.  But there must have been a mistake.  I am assigned a Miranda-class vessel?  Someone of my obvious skills should be assigned a Vesta class at the least.  I intend to speak to the Head of Starfleet when my shift is over.  I am getting a headache from a curious amount of lens flare.

We set course for Vulcan, but we respond to a distress signal.  The captain seems unsure.  Fortunately, he heeds my advice.

It is a trap.  The Klingons have boarded our ship.  Again with the Klingons...

With the lower decks secure I return to find the captain transported off of the bridge.  I must single-handedly retake the bridge.

The Klingons execute the captain.  Fortunately for all, I am now the captain of the USS Harrier.  Flores emerges from her hiding place.

Flores talks me into helping the Ferengi freighter who lured us into the Klingon trap.  Naturally, they 'see no profit' in aiding us and warp away.  This is the last time I listen to Flores.

We repair the engines and get off a distress signal.  I choose to pursue Captain Kadek, who dishonors his people by fleeing.  From my Miranda.  With a Negh'var.

Highly illogical.

And he springs yet another trap.  Captain Kadek is a most curious Klingon.

The USS Renown responds to our distress signal.  Kadek foolishly de-cloaks and attacks the both of us.  The outcome is not in question.  Captain Kadek, those glowing red lights behind your ship are photon torpedoes.
