Go to https://myaccount.turbine.com/ and click on "Forgot your password?" You may also click this in the game launcher.

Follow the instructions on how to recover your password. A new password will be sent to this e-mail address.

Once you have received the password reset e-mail, change your password. Please remember to use unique, hard-to guess passwords that are not associated with other online services or sites.
Turbine takes your account security seriously. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at https://support.turbine.com/. You may submit a new inquiry to our Customer Service team, and they will be able to assist you further.

Thank you,

Turbine Support

The forums' passwords are different to the ingame ones, aren't they? I don't think I've ever used their forums.

No. and it is legit. Forum name display isn't the same as account iirc, but it's been the same password since they redid the system for my.lotro

Isn't integrated login such a wonderful convenience?

Doesn't really matter because the flaw wasn't you or your passwords it was their server security.

Went to Turbine's site to change my password, and was greeted by the following message:

If you are seeing this message, we have detected you are not currently using a Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox browser. What is this, 2006 still?

Well, the important thing is that I wasn't using my memorable password, which I would have to change on Important Shit due to a breach.

Downside to this is that I can't reasonably use a random string for, say, PSN due to the console interface.
