The Invalids are in. Already know I'm going to be out of town for the draft. It seems like I do better when I auto-draft, anyways.   :oh_i_see:

I'll play this year but I'm happy to do my time in the noob league or whatever as I imagine most of the spots are already taken.

Hey, no dissing my second class league.  I'll get it started soon as well so we can make sure everyone that wants a spot, gets one.

Can we just make sure we leave Phildo out of both leagues this year?  :awesome_for_real:

Perhaps this year I can managed not to draft the most overrated players in the league.

Maybe.

I'm in as Kilt Wavers. I'll be glad to soak up a slot in the JV league as well this year if there's room.

Graviton Otters were last in JV this past year so I'm returning to soak up more brutality.

P.S. Is Randy Moss still a first round talent? :awesome_for_real:

Hah, so you were the guy that was worse than I was.

I had no business winning the main league, but I did.  :drill: :drill: :drill:

And yep, JV league invites should be out.  Decline for now if you have a main league spot.  I'm sure I'll have to beg for your return later.

I know Yahoo is confusing everyone by displaying one Draft time on one screen and another on another screen.

I am relying on the League Settings screen:

Let me get on that. I'll free up a couple spots.

If I remove you and you want back in, just send me a PM.  I'll be using a hatchet.

edit: Ugg, trying to figure out how to remove people that haven't accepted yet.

Ok, deleted anyone that hadn't accepted the invite yet.   So, have at it.

I figure the JV team doesn't need to be as set in stone as the other league.  I think I may increase teams to 14 if we get enough interest and just mimic the other leagues rules/roster.

These days, with the preponderence of 2-back systems, there really aren't many guys to draft 1st round as RB. Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles and Arians Foster are about it that I can think of. One of those just tweeted about his hamstring, one of those is a money-grubbing douche and one of those plays for the Chiefs.

We just did our work draft last night and everyone went RB nuts. Stewie had the seventh pick and got Rogers (who we both had planned to pick at #1), I got Rivers at #10 and since all the grade A RBs were gone, I picked up Calvin Johnson at #15 (I had him ranked as a top 8 pick).

Here is what I ended up with, so that anyone who wants can feel free to make fun of me:

QB    Rivers
WR    C Johnson
WR    W Welker
WR    S Rice
RB    S Green
RB    L Blount
TE    K Winslow
BN    J Cutler
BN    L Moore
BN    R Gronkowski
BN    M Bush
BN    D Carter
BN    B Tate

K     R Gould
D     Chicago

I figured that since I didn't get a top tier RB, I'd take a few young guys and see who might breakout.

I like the Ben Tate pick. I was planning to get him in my drafts only to have him snatched up before I could justify a pick on him.

e- Chris Johnson just signed, so I can at least get a couple of carries out of him before he snaps a hammy due to lack of preseason work.

Recovering from Irene-related internet blackout to see my team for the first time.  Not too bummed.  I had a 150 player pre-rank all set.  I grabbed Gates too soon in hindsight, but I like that I got Brees in the first round instead of a starting RB gamble.

Rivers was my bread an butter last year, so if he's anything like the same this year, you will be thrilled.  Welker is a beast too, obviously.  Had Blount on my my, and he seemed to be okay, but I could never bring myself to start him.

But Sydney Rice?  You know who is going to be throwing to him this year?  No one, that's who.

Wait, what? What the fuck? Why would you do that? I could see it if they were installing Gabbert, QB of the FOOOO-CHURE! in his place, but you don't shitcan a guy with his experience a week before the season starts for Luke McCown. Garrard will never be an elite QB, but he protects the ball and generally doesn't lose you ball games. Shit, you keep him around for nothing more than mentoring the new kid.

So I decided to base my whole season on the ups and downs of Michael Vick.  I ranked him as number 1 and let autodraft do the rest.  Should be interesting.  Rest of the squad isn't terribly noteworthy, but I guess that's what I can expect when I draft a QB first.  Hakeem Nicks would be my primary receiver, and Matt Forte as my primary RB.  Old Baltimore defense should still put up pretty decent numbers.  Here's hoping Vick can manage 40 a game  :awesome_for_real:

I seem to recall Forte being pretty solid in Fantasy last year (less good the year before, but still pretty good).  The good thing about him is that when they stop him running, he just catches passes instead.  IMO one of the best, if not THE best receiving RBs in the league, and maybe that improves now that Olsen is gone.

In a Martz offense, what Forte will lose because his O Line sucks and Martz doesn't like running ball, he will gain by being a pass catching machine.

This.  Forte is an excellent option as a receiver and will get many chances for swing passes and play action in the red zone.

So Manning senior is gone for most of the season due to neck surgery.  This is because I am QB cancer.   I'm so happy I was able to retain that title so quickly, now we just need Orton to get hurt or benched and my legacy will be complete.

I have gold on my bench - Stafford - with Brees as my starter. Willing to trade Stafford.  Also willing to trade Jones-Drew.  I do not believe that more than one decent player = one great player.  Offer like for like.

This league has never done much trading, but I figured I would put it out there.

I feel pretty good about my main league team.  Not great depth and my QBs are going to be a problem, but I think I'll be OK.  Only guy I'd be really looking to move would be Tolbert, possibly for a better QB situation or better WR depth.

Have no fear- I have you covered for the first league. Guess I should have started Fitzpatrick..that would have made it sort of close at least. Also, Knowshon Mereno is a huge vagina and I hope he snaps a knee so I don't have to think about playing him the rest of the season.

Dammit.  It's not good that Jeremy Fucking Maclin is my #2 receiver if he's going to continue to score 2.5 points per game.  Especially now that Hakeem Nicks is having some knee trouble.

And as for Blount...fuck.  I don't even think they give the guy the ball.  I think I am going to have serious depth issues as WR and RB this year.

Almost forgot my useless TE (Owen Daniels).  I thought he was supposed to be decent?  Your team scored 34 points, dude, I expect you to be part of that.

And how does Baltimore keep the Steelers to 7 points, force 7 turnovers, and still only score 23 points?  Something is off with the defensive scoring, because that was probably the best fantasy performance of the week (except for Brady, perhaps).

Defensive and special teams TDs are what turn in the monster games for defenses.  Otherwise, their potential for huge scores (especially if you blow the shutout) are less.  This is also why they are drafted later typically.  Welcome to fantasy football.

Sucka.  :raspberry:

136 points and I'm going to lose by nearly thirty in the JV league.  I may have to look at lowering points per catch next year, the scores in this league get crazy when WRs go off.

I need 8 points out of Eli and Nicks (later might not play) in the main league.  Not 100% positive I'll get there.   :awesome_for_real:

Both my teams stunk on ice this week. My JV team wasn't bad, but just got outscored. Playing against Brady, Hillis and one of the two NE TE's will do that to you. I'm ready to break Brady's fingers if he doesn't start throwing more to wideouts. Seriously, Gronkowski gets twice the points of Welker? That's not right.

Felix Jones and Jason Garrett can go suck a big fat bag of dicks. Did they hire Mike Martz when I wasn't fucking looking? Two games and a total of 45 rushes not by a QB? Darren Sproles is more guaranteed points than goddamn Felix Jones.

The JV league I just can't explain it. That team can score like a motherfucker, I just keep running up against someone having a better week than me. 154 point loss. FUCK.

Having the #1 points against isn't helping me in the JV league.  My team isn't very good, however, and I can blame most of that on really bad drafting.  Risky picks turned out to be risky, and I badly mismanaged when I picked my QB.  I could have gotten another good skill player before I got him and he still would have been available.

Regular league is going fine, obviously. Second most points.  Second place.  Average team that's bolstered by solid RB play and mediocre if steady WR play.

Mediocrity every year except 2004 when I won the whole damn thing. Last year I led throughout the whole season with a weak team that benefited from playing against people with weak schedules and got stomped in the first round of the playoffs.

Rest of the time is everything from 10th - 6th place.

I'm sure it is indeed the moneygrab that everyone makes it out to be, but I never understood why people seem to automatically dislike the Thursday games.  I mean, it's another football game that I get to watch.  I wish they did Fridays and Saturdays, too.

Because not everyone gets the NFL network.  And games on Friday night would screw high schools while Saturdays have traditionally been for college games, which is why the NFL waits for the college regular season to end before adding their Saturday games.

You picked a good week to sit him. You can collectively thank the Atlanta defense for focusing on Darren Sproles, the Baltimore defense for forgetting how to play and Philip Rivers for also forgettign how to play. Barring the Jennings/Nelson combo scoring like 80 fucking points tonight, there is no way you can lose.

I found this hard to believe so I looked. Denver is a good bet to have at least positive points.  Sanchez can always shit on himself and throw some picks and the Jets aren't likely to score more than 30.

I wonder if there is a bottom to this long, painful dive I am taking.  Started 7-1 and was in clear command.  Lost the last three, and the immediate future looks terrible....injuries to both my quarterbacks, and underperforming shitheels on the rest of the roster.  Play Lagarrette Blount one week and he stinks up the fucking place.  Bench him the next week and he tears it up.  Same with Cedric Fucking Benson.  God damn inconsistent motherfuckers.  Hakeem Nicks is completely worthless.  Maclin loses both his own games and mine at the same time.  Even Baltimore's defense has turned shitty in terms of point scoring.  The only great player week in and week out has been Matt Forte.  If Martz could figure out how to get him in the endzone, he would be amazing.

This is karma paying me back for ensuring I picked Vick with my #1.

Sorry, the DEFENSE for SF needs to shut out the Steelers. You know what I mean, you can see the matchup you rogue!

Come on Binary guy...you were supposed to pick the Patriots and enable my come-from-behind upset!  How could you possibly pick the Giants to win the SB, are you dumb or something?   :awesome_for_real:

Actually kinda funny how we all picked them to win.

I don't know what the hell Vegas was thinking.  The Giants had been playing great football going into the post season, and were healthy while the Pats had a suspect D, no pass rush, and an injured Gronk.

You must know this but "Vegas" is not some super brain.  The odds reflect, to some extent if not completely, what the bets are.
