Title: BlizzCon 2011
Post by: Nonentity on April 01, 2011, 02:30:59 AM
It's a thing that happens that I drag myself to every year.

Ing, you guys coming this year?

When is it this year? And don't say august.

Oct. 21-22.

I don't think we've decided yet, but probably, assuming we can get tickets.

With a nasty hospital bill, and other expenses this year, I don't think i can swing it. I haven't completely discounted it, but I am very likely not going. The ticket price is only going up $25, and I'm definitely not going "OH GOD HOW COULD YOU BLIZZARD". With the ticket + hotel + everything else, it would just be too tight this year, I think. I may try to figure out how to buy a ticket and see if Ing will pick up my bag for me.

Get the room and skip the con.  You're set.

Any of you guys end up getting tickets for this?

No.

EDIT: Seems we could probably get tickets for $250 or so on eBay.  :why_so_serious:

How many people need tickets?

I got an eTicket last year and was pretty happy with the coverage I got.  I'll probably wait until the last moment to get it just like last year though, as its really only worth getting if that particular weekend won't be busy, and I won't really know in advance.

Just wait for someone to start streaming it. It happens every year.
Predictions - Starcraft part 2.1, D3 release date and Mists of Pandaria expansion. No Titan.

An hour-and-a-half "World of Warcraft Preview" immediately following the opening ceremony? Gosh, I wonder what that could be about?  :oh_i_see:

If yall find a streaming link throw me a PM. I don't feel like paying 40 bucks to watch it but wouldn't mind scoping a bit out.

D3 release date for sure, otherwise they might as well not throw a convention.

Certainly not a new expansion, with the developer Q&A focusing on "the changes to talents in 5.0"

I don't care what people say, I like the pandas.

Also the zone art is  .

The part that makes me go :suspicious: is "New Talent System".

Details fuckers, I'm at work and can't read live blogs or stream because I've got a permit revision to get in the mail tonight (waiting on printers now.)

Pandas, Metzen being.. Metzen. Talents getting mixed way the fuck up, and imo becoming a more interesting system.

Yeah, but they talked up archeology at the last one... and look what that became.

Arch pretty much stayed the same I think? Its just they totally dropped the Path of the Titans thing it was supposed to support.

Exactly. That was the failure of the project. They kept the grind but removed the overall method to the madness.

Archæology just got mentioned in the items/classes/etc. Q&A and some changes are on the radar. Just don't hold your breath.

So they avoided talking about the only thing people cared about I take it?
