Title: $7.99 for a dance emote pack? WTF?
Post by: UnSub on August 31, 2010, 10:14:30 PM
Seriously, $8 for a dance and sports emote pack. (http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/news_archive/new_in-game_pack_-_get_ready_t.html)

This really shows you the state of CoH/V's revenue stream - this should have been free. They are emotes, for crying out loud.

I see it as the same as the Wedding Pack -- i.e. something for the RPers with no gameplay benefits.

Nothing wrong with that.

No it doesn't. Blizzard does pretty much the same thing.

Star. Pony.

$8 for a cosmetic item is fine with me.  Maybe a little less, but I'm okay with it as I'll never buy it and there is no game-play incentive to want to do so.

They have a wedding pack? That's sort of adorable! But also sort of weird. In an adorable way!

The wedding pack contained several unique costume pieces (including a flowing headpiece for female characters) and emotes for $15.

This is 8 emotes for $8. CoH/V's booster packs have been shrinking in content for a bit now, but this is a pretty blatant cash grab.

As someone who has bought every booster pack bar the most recent mutant one, this is by far the worst value offer I've seen CoH/V put out.

Ninja Run makes up for all the other mediocre booster packs.
