Title: Batman Cacaphony
Post by: HaemishM on December 17, 2008, 09:48:16 AM
Normally, I don't read the Batman miniseries like this when they first come out. But seeing as how it's written by Kevin Smith, I figured why not? This book is great fun. It's got the Joker written with Smith's wit (but still a pretty dead-on characterization) and his villain from the run on Green Arrow a while back (Onomatopeaia - no real name for the guy, just the way he mouths out sound effects). I love that villain, and he's used well here. Very funny, fun Batman book. Smith does have his trademark dialogue, but at least he can write characters with that dialogue without making it sound out of character like Bendis does.

Wow, I hated this book. I like Kevin Smith well enough when he sticks to Kevin-Smith situations and characters. When he decides that all the thoughts he had about religion when he was 17 were totally awesome, or when he decides to write the Joker as if he were a Kevin Smith character? Suck.
