Title: 24: Redemption
Post by: ahoythematey on November 23, 2008, 12:01:20 PM
So.

Any wagers on the time from start of show to the Bauer-torture-hour?

My guess is 40 minutes in, give or take 3.

I gave up on 24 midway through last season.

Probably was a good idea.

Told my roomie about your prediction and he was impressed with your guess.

God, that was great.  The portrayal of the UN relief worker (complete with very slight European accent) was pure gold.   The embassy guy was great too.  I can only imagine what the NEW vice president looks like!  He probably has a gigantic cape and handlebar mustache.

You forgot the monocle.

God, why are they bringing back Almeida?  This is a stretch even for 24.

I heard that in season 8, the government opens a portal to hell in a government experiment gone wrong, and Jack fights Satan on his throne.

EDIT:  I just thought of something cooler.  Jack will testify and America will fall in love with him and his torture4freedom, and by season 8 (9 at latest) he'll be president himself.

Is that before or after he becomes Palmer Eldritch?

My wife and I skipped the last season (we wait for Netflix so we can slam all the episodes together and the reviews kept us away) and this got us interested again. So it did what it was supposed to.

I determinedly watched the last season - I hated the first 2/3, but then it did one of those flips towards the end where it turns out there's actually a higher level to the story, with a bigger evil than the one you thought he was fighting. And then I started to enjoy it. Damned if I can remember anything about it though :) Wikipedia episode guide here I come.

That's almost every season of 24.  Also, episode four of last season was quite possibly one of the most intense episodes in the entire series.

Ah it was the Chinese villains - and Audrey coming back from the dead. She's all fucked up by Chinese interrogation/brainwashing and is a mental basket case, left in the care of her military father by Jack. Which is how he became a lost soul wandering the world and getting into trouble in Africa ...

Mark my words, Audrey will come back again.  If they are bringing Almeida back, they'll bring her back.  Jesus christ.

They should bring back Teri Bauer as the true behind-the-scenes mastermind villain!  :awesome_for_real:

They should bring back George Mason as an actual, honest-to-god zombie due to the combination of having radiation sickness and being at the center of a nuclear explosion.  Watch as Jack Bauer and crew try to find a method of torture that actually works on zombies.  They could even bring back Kim for a useless subplot of how she's in love with a zombie.
